AS the good weather continues Scots are getting out into their gardens and getting stuck in.
A gardening expert has revealed their top five tips to help you enjoy your garden this summer.
Garden expert Mandy Barrie, who owns Caulders Garden Centre with husband Colin, has chosen her top five ways to get your garden thriving.
Mandy said container planting is a great way to begin.
And the secret to growing plants well is the crock you put at the bottom before you put the soil in.
She says: "Most people use broken pots, hence the name crock.
"But a great hack for this is to use empty cola cans or old sponges to fill area.
"Great for drainage and aeration."
There's nothing more frustrating than when your nice tall plant begins to fall to one side and sag.
But, Mandy says there is a simple solution that is in your bedroom drawers.

She said: "Old cotton t-shirts and even knickersare great for tying plants to help them climb and grow tall.
"The softness of the material doesn't dig into the steam or leaves of the plant making them an ideal solution."
The country has just recently entered a heatwave and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have warned of a water shortage.
And our gardening expert has the perfect solution to save water when water your plants.
Mandy says: "Whilst we are trying to avoid hoses in our garden, why not try watering your plants with an empty milk carton.
"Just pierce some hold in the lid and you can have an instant watering can!"
With the arrival of summer comes the arrival of different bugs and creatures.
Our gardens are full of crawlies, flying insects, and baby birds at this time of year.
But there's nothing worse when they've gotten in and bitten off some of your plants.
To stop slugs, in particular, Mandy has one hack that's sitting in your kitchen cupboard.
She said: "Fill a saucer with beer to deter any slugs.
"This trick will stop the slugs eating your lettuces!"
And to keep away pesky wasps she suggest leaving a pot of jam out adding: "The wasps will happily remain there and allow you to enjoy your garden in your peace!"
Caulders Garden Centre have nine locations across the country with eight venues having their own restaurant.
