I’m a home and gardens expert – five easy ways to upgrade your garden and they only cost a couple of quid | The Sun

WITH a heatwave on its way we’re all certain to spend a lot of time in our gardens in the coming weeks.

Cooldown and relax in style after glamming up your garden, with these easy and budget friendly tips from home and gardens expert Jenny Barker.

Jenny posted her top tips to her TikTok account @jenshomejournal, where she shares the home and garden upgrades she’s made to her new-build house, which she recently purchased.

Jenny’s first tip for upgrading your outdoor space is to paint your shed and/or fence, going over with the same colour can give the wood a nice refreshed look, or you can change up the colour and create a new garden aesthetic.

The expert has created a DIY water feature that adds a whole new level of chic to her garden.

In another video, Jenny shares exactly how she created this bird bath, and like her other tips it’s super budget friendly.

'Paddy and I are having a very, very difficult time' admits Christine

First, she begins by glueing the bottom of two big big plastic plant pots together, then she adds some stones to the top one for some added weight.

Next, she glues the top lip, and adds a plastic saucer to create the bath, before painting it with the Frenchic alfresco range and decorating with some faux ivy and then filling with water.

She then adds a solar powered water feature, creating a fountain effect.

Jess’s third tip for upgrading your garden is to paint the patio area, if you have one. If you find the right paint, Jess uses one from Wilko, this paint can last for ages, even if washed and/or scratched.

She also suggests vinyl wrapping your outside table, and adding some solar lights so you can still sit out and enjoy yourself in the evenings.
