I’m a laundry pro – my grandma’s 97c Walmart secret is a ‘bar of gold’ & smells amazing too | The Sun

OUR grandparents can pass down lots of things to us, from family heirlooms to words of wisdom that only come with age.

Perhaps the most useful of all, a TikTok user has gone viral after sharing her grandmother's "bar of gold" laundry secret.

TikTok user Sarah E Baus shared the 97c Walmart item her grandmother swore by when it came to laundry.

"You know when your grandma has these weird life hacks or things that grandmas just know? Like it cures illness or makes your hair grow or whatever? This is grandmas secret for laundry," Sarah told her followers as she showed the Fels-Naptha Laundry bar.

She continued: "To hell with shout, this bar is the only stain remover you need and this is what I make my laundry detergent with."

"This is 97c, and with a box of washing soda and borax, I make a powdered detergent," she explained.

"This is the secret to all your laundry, this is how I don’t go spending $10, $20, $30 on laundry detergent. My detergent maybe costs me $1.50," Sarah said.

Her followers took to the comments section of her TikTok video to share their personal experiences with the soap bar.

"I've been making my own detergent this way for years and it is literally the best for sensitive skinned peeps like me," wrote one user.

Another person said: "My kids had permanent marker on their school uniform, that is the only thing that took out the marker…that is the best stuff!!"
