I’m a mum – the best family-friendly UK campsites… my toddler loves the play areas & they’re next to the beach | The Sun

A MUM has shared the best campsites to enjoy with the kids in the UK.

Becky Lloyd, a mum-of-two who loves travelling, took to her social media account to open up about the places she discovered with her 19,300 followers.

“These are three campsites that are perfect to go to with kids this summer,” she told viewers while panning the camera around the first place, where her daughter could be seen cuddling up to her dad.

Trwyn yr Wylfa Caravan and Campsite is the first place on her list, which is near Conwy and set within Snowdonia National Park.

It’s £34 for caravans, £36 for motorhomes with two adults and £30 for those looking to pitch a tent. It’s an additional £5 per child.

Describing the site, she said: “It’s got beautiful views over the sea, it’s really spacious, it’s all new.

“So all the facilities are new, which is great. They have an ice cream van and a pizza truck that comes most nights…”

Changing the scene to show a short wooden bridge over a lake, she added: “And it’s right near some really good walks.

“And you can go into Conwy for the day if you wanted to,” she shared.

Becky said that the enjoyment of the campsite also heavily relies on how the weather is too as they were able to play football and watch the sunset on the campsite.

The campsite has free use of freezers, a washing up area, hot showers, guest WiFi and a dog walking area.

The electric charging locker for phones and laptops is £1, the washing machine and tumble dryers can be used from £2 and use of a hair dryer is just 20p.

And if you want a meal out, you can take a 14 minute walk to Penmaenmawr to The Village Bistro or Stella House Fish & Chips.

The second campsite on Becky’s list is the Glanllyn Caravan & Camping Park on Bala Lake, which is also in Snowdonia National Park.

This space has an incredible array of facilities for those looking to camp out there, including grass pitches, a dishwashing area, WiFi, and more.

But there’s also a children’s play area with a swing, slide and climbing areas.

There’s also a fishing area on the lake and a shop to get all your essentials from groceries to woodfire.

@beckylloyd100 said: “The clue is in the name, it is stunning and there are so many nice walks nearby and we found another waterfall walk.”

Her daughter also loved the campsite because there were ducks outside their tent every morning  and she would “just run around and play in the stream”.

“There is a park and an ice cream shop on site, so really recommend this site. We can’t wait to go back this year,” she said.

It’s £43 for a family-of-four to stay a night in a tent in this incredible spot. And for caravans as well as motorhomes, prices start from £45.

And the third campsite is Shell Island LLanbedr, which is filled with different areas to pitch a tent as well as activities for the kids to do.

She said: “There’s loads of things you can do as well, so there’s the park, there’s the arcade, you can get stuff from the shop to go crabbing.

“There’s a beach nearby, so you can walk there within about five minutes.”

Again, Becky said the weather really made the trip worth it for them as it was like “being abroad”.

Camping at Shell Island costs £34.50 a night and people can indulge in everything from fishing and crabbing to exploring the beaches and flowers.

People were quick to comment on the post as one person wrote: “definitely going to visit the on in Conway. shell island is our happy place. these are all on my door step as well”.

Becky replied: “Yes the one in Conwy is sooo much smaller but very nice for 2 nights xx”.

Another said: “We went shell island for the first time in May half term and had the best weather. Such a lively place”.

“Hi do you know what the waterfall/walk area in Conwy is called ? xx,” a third asked, to which she replied: “It’s called Aber falls xx”.

While a fourth added: “I go to shell island every year for 2 weeks and it’s honestly the best campsite in wales. I’m going next week and I can’t wait!”

And a fifth suggested: “Plassey in north wales has a pool, massive play park, a few restaurants, a cafe, a shop etc, we had the best time!”

Becky responded: “Ooo I will have to try this one! Xx”.
