I’m a royal expert – here’s what the Royal Family will make of Meghan Markle’s breathtakingly insensitive podcast | The Sun

MEGHAN Markle’s much-awaited Spotify podcast Archetypes finally dropped yesterday – and it was breathtakingly terrible.

Aside from being all about “me, me, me”, I couldn’t believe she had the cheek to align herself with the extraordinary Serena Williams.

Serena is a very talented tennis player who had a difficult childhood and worked her socks off to become a multi-millionaire.

Then there’s Meghan, a little-known American actress who hasn’t really accomplished anything except marrying a rich prince and being part of the British Royal Family.

Oh, except that time she made a huge change in the world with Procter & Gamble, a story everybody must have heard countless times, which she used to open her podcast.

She recounts how she wrote to them at the age of 11 about their advert for Ivory Clear dishwashing liquid, telling them it’s not just women who should be doing the washing up, it’s men too.

Yes, they changed women to ‘people’, but according to her father Thomas, countless others sent letters in too.

Meghan said she had no idea about the “the negative connotation behind the word ambitious, until I started dating my now husband”, Harry.

In other words, that she was badly treated by the Royal Family. That they felt that she couldn’t have ambition.

I mean, how rude and unnecessary.

This woman has so much, and yet she’s still resentful.

What was absolutely fascinating was Meghan’s tale from their 2019 royal tour of South Africa, when there was a fire in four-month-old Archie’s room.

Thankfully he was downstairs at the time with his nanny.

After the fire in what she called a "housing unit", Meghan says, can you believe it, I was forced to go on to the next engagement.

As an actress she must know that the show must go on, just as she would if she was a politician – especially as Archie was not even in the room.

I find it extraordinary that a shocking story like that hasn’t been leaked before now.

Meghan has got this sort of victim attitude, and what’s even more extraordinary is that she tried to push it onto Serena, making them both victims together.

Serena was going on about how she loved being pregnant and having her baby, and Meghan would say “yes but people don’t help enough, people don’t do this, people don’t do that”.

I think the Royal Family can see that nothing would ever give Meghan satisfaction because she always wants more, more, more.

We’ve all had enough of “poor Meghan”, particularly at this time when so many people are trying to make ends meet and are worried about the future and how they’re going to manage.

And there she is, with oodles of money, complaining about everything. It’s so insensitive.

The next podcast is going to be with another multi-millionaire, Mariah Carey, so you get the gist.

I think Meghan is dying to stay relevant, but this podcast shows she’s got nothing very original to say.

I suspect the Royal Family will sigh and move on.
