Well fear not, one savvy mum revealed how she managed to slash her bill by two thirds, and you can too.

Sharing her tricks on TikToK, Gina Zakaria explained that re-thinking the way you shop for food can make a massive difference to how much you spend.

She said: "When I was trying to save money on groceries I went from £1,050 per month to £350, there were some things that I wish I knew earlier."

She admitted that she could've saved so much time, money, and frustration by changing the way she shops.

She recommended keeping an eye on local adverts so you always know when the sales are to take advantage.

Moreover, the time you shop can affect how much you spend, since most yellow sticker bargains are available at the end of the day.

Shop before your create a meal plan

"Your meal plan shouldn't dictate how much you spend on food, your food should dictate what meal plan you have that week," Gina explained.

Before going to the supermarket have a root through your freezer to see if there's anything you can use up rather than spending more money.
