I’m a student teacher and got fired from school after three dress code violations – I don't know what I did wrong | The Sun

A STUDENT teacher has claimed she was fired from her school after being "dress coded" too many times.

Mei Mei had been updating her TikTok followers about her teaching career and, earlier this year, began sharing videos explaining that she'd been reprimanded for breaking the dress code of the school she's working at.

In the first clip, she wore a grey jumper with wet-look leggings and a coat, and admitted she understood why the trousers were not particularly appropriate for a teacher to wear at school.

For the second violation, she was in a T-shirt and high-waisted beige trousers with a cardigan over the top.

While the third one saw her wear a cream jumper dress over opaque tights.

In a video explaining the third violation, Mei Mei said: "I’m not mad at it, I just really don’t understand.

I’m plus size & got ‘dress coded’ at a restaurant for wearing a crop top

"Oh wait, I’m lying, I didn’t have my coat on at the time. But I did have it on most of the day. I was teaching my lesson like this.

"At this point I’m just really embarrassed. I thought it would be okay with these tights and this dress is long.

"I even typed on Amazon ‘dresses for teachers’, and this is what came up. Actually, my entire outfit was from Amazon.

"But don’t worry, I did order some new teacher appropriate things.

"I’m just so embarrassed at this point, I don’t even want to show my face.

"So I’m definitely going to need your help because I don’t know what I should wear anymore. Or what I CAN wear."

She also told her followers that she had been warned she could be fired if she broke the dress code rules one more time.

In a later video, she said: "Basically what we were nervous about finally happened. So we have to find out if I can even graduate."

She added that she couldn't talk much about the situation because there were people working to help her graduate, or secure another school placement.

But Mei Mei captioned another clip "So I got kicked out of school."

"I wish that they spoke to me first instead of going up to my programme director, instead of sending them a little email," she said in the video.

"I wish they would have spoken to me and said, ‘Hey we have a problem’, so I could have responded with my words instead of having to go through all these people and navigate and try and figure out what my next step is.

"Because right now I feel so stupid. I feel so dumb and I feel like a failure.

"I went to school for two days not knowing I wasn’t supposed to be there and I walked past the principal.

"She looked me in the eye and said, ‘Good morning’."

She concluded her video by sobbing: "What the hell am I going to do now?"

"I just haven't felt this small in a really long time, and it sucks," she sighed in another TikTok.

Mei Mei summed her experience of everything up in another video for her fans, as she wrote: "Gets dress coded for wearing leather pants.

"Gets second dress code for wearing turtle neck dress.

"Gets dress coded for wearing T-shirt and cardigan.

"Gets kicked out of school without speaking to me directly. No communication at all.

"And my program director has to call me to tell me that the entire county banned me and I have to leave immediately."
