WHEN it comes to a trip to the supermarket there are some unspoken rules you should follow.

From not walking too slow to never blocking the aisle with your trolley, it can all make or break not just your shopping trip but your entire day.

When the supermarket is bustling and the isles are packed, don’t be one of the slow walkers making the build-up worse.

Of course, this doesn't mean you need to whizz around the shop in record time – if anything that'll be even more annyoing.

But getting in and out quickly will help everyone else get on with their day, not just you.

Trolley blockers

The person designated to push the trolley has a big responsibility during the food shop – one of them is to not block the aisles.

Avoid having the trolley sticking out where other people can’t walk around, keep it on the side where you are looking for an item.

Staring at the shelves for too long

Everyone needs to get their items in the food shop, but one of the most frustrating things is when someone else blocks this from happening.

If you’re staring at the shelf, keep mindful of how long you’ve been standing there or at least be aware of your surroundings.

And if the aisle isn't too busy, stand back so other people can look as well!

Bringing the whole family

If childcare is an issue try popping to the shops while the kids are at school or on the way home from work.

Every British person hates a queue pusher, but this can easily happen in supermarkets, especially in the self-service area.

Wait in line like everyone else or karma might land you in an even bigger queue on your next shopping trip.

Last minute shoppers

There’s always going to be the odd occasion when you quickly need to grab an item last minute, but going into the store 10 minutes before closing is a big no-no.

Not only will the workers have to wait until you finish, but it can also panic other customers and create chaos.

Not to mention the shop will probably need restocking at the end of the day, meaning you might not even find what you're looking for.

Shoppers without a list

Those who go to the supermarket without a list are more likely to act erratically, searching the shelves and bumping into other customers.

Create a list on your phone or have a visual mindset of what you need and for which meals.

Pro tip, organise your list into different sections of the shop to make it easy to follow and so you don't miss anything.
