IF you have a pet pooch, you need to listen up.

A has revealed the three mistakes that many pet parents are making, that could cause serious harm to your dog.

Known on TikTok as ‘drkatrinawarren’, Television Veterinarian Dr Katrina regularly shares her pet tips, training and behaviour advice on social media.

She has 39.1k followers and 513.2k likes on the video sharing platform and in one of her recent videos, the vet reveals the three things that dog owners need to stop doing.

Dr Katrina uploaded the video with the caption ‘Three really common dog dangers to be avoid’.

She said: “Three things I would never do with my dog after seeing horrific injuries over the years.”

Throw sticks 

The first thing that Katrina would never do with her dog is throw sticks.

She explained: “As much as dogs love sticks, they are really dangerous.

“They get impaled on sticks when they bounce back up into their mouths”.

Feed cooked bones

The second thing that this vet doesn’t do with her pet is feed him cooked bones.

She added: “Dogs love leftovers but cooked bones are dangerous because they can easily splinter.

“They can get caught in the throat, mouth and gut”. 

Dog parks

Finally, another thing that Dr Katrina avoids is taking a dog to a dog park.

She concluded: “I would never let him run free in a dog park with dogs I don’t know.

“Most vets and dog trainers agree on this one, dog parks are dangerous.

“There are so many dog fights there so I avoid, avoid, avoid”.

Dr Katrina’s video has clearly been useful to many, as it has racked up a whopping 164.8k views.

It has 9,095 likes, 269 comments and 629 shares.

TikTok users agreed with the advice and took to the comments to express this.

Another added: “That’s so good to know the one about sticks! I’ve been throwing sticks at the beach for the dog I’m dog sitting but will definitely be stopping now!” 

A third commented: “Such wise advice Katrina”. 

Someone else agreed: “Yes! All 3 of these! Dog owners that don't know what their dogs can and can't eat is worrying!” 

A lot of dog owners particularly agreed with Katrina’s point about dog parks.
