I’m a woman in construction – men laugh in my face and I’ve almost caused wrecks by people staring while driving by | The Sun

A FEMALE construction worker has been turning heads as she defies gender norms.

The influencer revealed that her distracting looks have almost caused passers-by to crash their cars, but not everyone is impressed.

TikTok user Sai Waller (@sai_waller) shared a recent incident where she wasn't taken seriously due to her gender and profession.

Sai prefaced the story in the clip. She wrote: "Point of view: You're a girl who works in a man's field."

"So I’m looking to get my own place and today was the first time I went to look at a house I actually liked," she told viewers.

Sai explained: "Me and the landlord were sitting there talking and he asked what I did for a living."

After the TikToker replied that she works in construction, she noticed the landlord's surprise.

Sai acknowledged that it wasn't a common industry for women to work in.

"He laughed in my face," the content creator informed her followers.

After this situation, Sai decided to change up her look when viewing potential homes.

"So from now on, every house I go to look at, I’ll be taking my safety vest and my hard hat," she said.

Sai even brought out her yellow hard for the viral video, modeling it for her viewers.

"Can we normalize women working in construction?" she asked in the clip's caption.

Even while she's at work Sai struggles to be seen as anything but eye candy.

"I’ve almost caused wrecks by people staring at me driving by," she revealed in the comments section.

TikTok users also took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

"Any woman in construction has your back. Don’t listen to a damn thing a man says. I’m an engineer in industrial construction and I hear everything," wrote one viewer.
