I’m an ex-Bath & Body Works employee – so many customers brought in wrong coupon after confusing us with big chain store | The Sun

A FORMER Bath & Body Works employee recounts so many customers bringing in the wrong coupon after confusing them with another big chain store.

The ex-employee, known as @skifukindaddle on TikTok, shared a video with her followers revealing the one mistake customers used to make a lot.

The TikTok user, who said she worked at the chain store about four years ago, captioned the video: "I only worked there for a month because I was seasonal & got fired because I was busy on candle day."

As an instrumental song called New Home by Austin Farwell played in the background, @skifukindaddle is seen looking around as she cleans her glasses.

In the overlay text on the footage, she explains: "When I worked at Bath & Body Works I always had moms/grandmothers come in with Bed Bath & Beyond coupons.

"I didn't have the heart to tell them they were wrong so I just took their coupon when they gave it to me & scanned a coupon from the stack behind the register without them knowing."

"So they wouldn't feel like they were getting old and messing things up," she concluded.

Many people took to the comments section, with one TikTok user saying: "I worked at Old Navy and there’s always a coupon of some kind that I would memorize and give to nice old ladies."

Another said: "They no longer keep stacks of coupons behind the counter.

"We scan them and once they’re scanned they won’t scan again so we rip them up."

It appears it's common to mess up the story names, as another person admitted to reading the store name wrong in the TikTok post.

"I read bath and body works as bed bath and beyond," the comment read.

"I had to go back and read it again because I was confused."

Earlier this year, a former Bed, Bath & Beyond employee shared some inside secrets that consumers may not know but can use to save money.

There are roughly 1,500 Bed, Bath & Beyond locations in the US, and the chain operates in every state.

Azucena Serna, Azucenasernaa on TikTok, said she used to work at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and explained some details of the store's policy.

First, she said that paper coupons from Bed, Bath & Beyond never expire.

Digital coupons have a had expiration date, but she said stores will always accept paper coupons.

Even if the coupon has a printed expiration date and it passed, you can still try using it in the store.

Next, Azucena explained that when shopping in person at Bed, Bath & Beyond, you can pick up deals by comparing prices online.

She said that if you find a cheaper price for the same item online, you can show your phone at checkout and get a discount.

Bed, Bath & Beyond's price match policy also states that it will accept prices from major online and retail competitors.

However, if you're using a price match, you won't be able to apply coupons to your purchase with the exception of manufacturer coupons.
