AN INTERIOR designer has insisted people shouldn't put their TVs on walls in their home – saying it looks "naff".
Anna Campbell-Jones is a judge on BBC show Scotland’s Home Of The Year and runs her own interiors design business, Habitus, in Glasgow.
In a recent radio interview, the interiors pro said a big television is the last thing people should put on their walls.
They should, she argued, always be on a table or console.
Speaking to Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards on 5 Live Breakfast, Anna said: "A TV is a big black shiny rectangle.
"If you were decorating the walls of your home, a big, black shiny rectangle is not – maybe even the last thing you would want to put on the wall to decorate it.

"Then it’s at a funny height. If you put a TV at the right height to view from a seated position, that's not really the right height for a piece of art on the wall. If you're standing up, the art would be lower than your gaze.
"I suppose so [it is a bit naff]. You’re elevating your TV to be a piece of art, which is a little bit confusing."
She added: "Obviously a big TV is absolutely fantastic when you’re watching a movie and you want that immersion experience.
"But a big TV when it’s switched off doesn’t look very pretty.

"My TV is 40 inches and my room’s massive."
Anna's TV stance has left people divided with some branding her view "snobby".
One fumed: "I think you can have your telly wherever you like. Sounds like a snobby 'in my opinion'. Sorry Anna."
A second agreed: "Snobby view. Putting the TV out the way rather than on a table gives you load more space if you don't have a big lounge.
"It also makes it a hell of a lot more safe from rambunctious kids and pets."
And a third wrote: "I have [it on the wall] for safety reasons and have a lot more space in my living room."
Others, however, agreed that televisions have no place on walls.
One said: "TV high up on the wall above the fireplace is the absolute worst place for it."

Meanwhile, a third added: "I agree, no TV on walls apart from in the pub – or if you want your living room to look like a pub."
