AN interior designer has revealed a simple way to add a "lavish atmosphere" to your home.
Jaqui Seerman shared her tips with The U.S. Sun and also detailed which luxury touches are worth the splurge — and which may not be.
Seerman knows a thing or two about nailing that luxury look, having designed spaces for several hotels.
Last year, she reimagined the dining areas of Downtown LA's Hotel Per La — and now she's revealed how people can get that high-end look in their own dining rooms.
"Enveloping dining rooms with rich colors or patterns via paint or wallpaper adds instant luxury and enhances the ambiance of the space, creating a lavish atmosphere," she said.
You can also create a statement with drapery.
"If you're unable to paint, add drama with bold-colored or patterned drapery.
"It can create height, volume, and a striking visual impact to elevate your space."
Adding more light can also make a big difference, and it can be done even without big windows.
"To bring more light into dining rooms and kitchens, consider installing a pair of sconces or placing small table lamps on a credenza or countertop," Seerman said.

"This adds cozy ambiance and introduces dramatic layered lighting, illuminating the space with a welcoming glow."
She also warned against decorating mistakes that it's easy to fall into.
"Properly scaling your furniture is crucial," she said.
"Small pieces can make a room feel awkward and cramped, while oversized ones hinder entertaining.
"Focus on a few larger-scale items to fill the space harmoniously and create a balanced and inviting atmosphere."
While most people want their homes to look expensive, Seerman noted that not everything is necessarily worth splashing out big bucks on.
"Designer flatware and glassware can enhance a dining experience, but their impact is diminished in a poorly-furnished room," she explained.
"Affordable options can feel equally luxurious when placed in a properly designed space, allowing you to achieve a sophisticated ambiance without breaking the bank."
If you are going to splurge on anything, Seerman urges prioritizing comfort for entertaining.
"Invest in chairs that are durable, built to last, and provide comfort for hosting memorable, nightlong dinner parties that guests will rave about for years to come," she said.
And if you want that pricey feel without going broke, the pro insists thrifting is the way to go.

"Consider shopping second-hand!" she said. "It benefits the environment and your budget.
"Buying vintage or lightly used pieces can save you hundreds off retail prices, and those savings accumulate with each additional item, allowing you to stretch your budget further."
