IT'S expensive enough trying to kit out a kid for school.
But throw in a pair of the must-have designer school shoes of the moment, and your bill suddenly doubles.
And what's made all the more annoying is that the shoes often don't even last to the end of the first term.
That's the situation mum Jess found herself in, after splashing out on a pair of Kickers that her son wanted for the start of school in September.
"I bought these for Isaiah in September," she said in a video on her TikTok page, showing how the sole of the shoe was coming away from the actual foot.
There were also scuffs all over the front as well.

"They're school shoes."
So when Jess told Isaiah that he couldn't have another pair of Kickers, he asked if he could have a pair of Adidas trainer shoes.
Jess admitted she'd never heard of them, and had to Google them, but when she did and put the order in, she was thrilled by what arrived.
"Every boy mum should just be buying these for school," she gushed.
"They're £30, £30.
"That was with delivery on the Adidas website.
"So they're literally smart, like shoes, at the front, but they are Adidas.
"And you can also have their name written on the side. And that wasn't extra – £30 with delivery."
Concluding, Jess said: "I don't mind spending 30 pound every few months on a pair of these if I need to.
"However, these are designed for running around, so they might last longer.
"But I just had to share that with you because that's a game changer for me.
"Now I won't be buying two pairs of kickers every time.
"I'm just gonna buy a pair of these each, because that's really good value for money, I think."
Jess then added a little disclaimer at the end of the video as she said the Adidas trainer shoes are suitable for both boys and girls.
"I would wear these as a female, so I'd say unisex, but they are described as boys on the website," she said.
And lots of mums in the comments section agreed that the Adidas shoes are worth getting.
"Yep!!!! They’re the best find. Now I need trousers that can deal with knee slides," one wrote.
"Yes!!! These are the best school shoes ever," another added.
"I got my two boys adidas trainers for school shoes this term!" a third wrote.
"Similar to them. Loads of mums at the same school have too.
"They’re so good."
However, others noted that the shoes aren't allowed in some schools which have a blanket "no trainers" rule.
"It's sad how some schools are cracking down on kids wearing trainers instead of school shoes," one wrote.
"Trainers are much better."
"I agree," Jess replied.
"Their priority should be that they are comfortable."
"I swear by these but they are now classed as trainers at my sons school," another sighed.
"Thankfully the primary and secondary school in our town just say black shoes and they care more about comfort than looks," someone else wrote.
"I might get some for my son."
