Q) I have more than 20 years of HR and recruitment administration experience in a variety of different sectors.

I’m passionate about what I do, have great interpersonal skills and love being the first point of contact for employees.

I am currently applying for various positions and have secured quite a few interviews, but haven’t received any job offers.

A) The job search process can be challenging, but with the right approach and mindset, you can increase your chances of securing a new role.

Research the company to get a solid understanding of their values, mission, culture and any recent developments.

Highlight your accomplishments and provide examples of how you have effectively communicated and built relationships with employees, managers and stakeholders.

Prepare a list of thoughtful questions, as this shows your interest in the role and will help you gain more insight.

A great question is: “Do you have any concerns about my ability to fulfil this role?”

If they do, it gives you the chance to address their concerns and convince them otherwise!

After the interview, send a personalised thank-you email.

Express your appreciation for their time, reiterate your interest in the role and briefly summarise why you believe you are a strong fit.

This can leave a positive impression and help you stand out from other candidates.
