Inside Amanda Holden's rainbow wardrobe as she turns 50 – and why her love of red means she is full of passion

FABULOUS and fifty should be Amanda Holden's motto today.

The Heart breakfast show presenter and Britain's Got Talent judge is celebrating the big 50 today.

She’s known for strutting her stuff into the Global studios each morning wearing an array of outfits, so what better way to celebrate than have a look back on some of her looks.

And it seems Amanda really can wear every colour under the rainbow.

You name it, she’s worn it.

Taking a look back at these colourful looks, colour expert Jules Standish gives insight into what wearing these colours evoke.

Red

Amanda strutted her stuff in this fiery red head to toe look back in December.

Looking professional in a leather look pencil skirt by Sosander she paired it with a red blouse, wool coat, tote bag and heels.

Jules says: “A dynamic look full of confidence and impact, that speaks of getting a job done with drive and determination, combined with high energy and a passion for the cause in an eye-catching and bold appearance.”

Yellow

This yellow dress from Lavish Alice really shows off Amanda’s toned arms.

The cross strap detailing adds some interest to her look whilst the wrap waist accentuates her figure and is very in tune with her glam look.

Jules says: “Bright yellow enhances a bubbly, outgoing personality and reflects a positive and sunny mood, full of happy vibes. The upbeat nature of this colour ensures a joyful sharing experience with others to brighten up their day and make them smile.”

Pink

Amanda loves a pink and can often be seen out especially in the warmer months in this hue.

This dress from Ethereal London has a beautiful tie detail at the waist and billowing sleeves, perfect for springtime.

Jules says: “This warm shade of pink is all about fun and femininity in a wrap, showcasing a romantic side and a kind, compassionate and nurturing nature, with a youthful outlook.”

Green

Proving she’s one classy lady, Amanda stepped out last November in this dark emerald dress by Another Look at Silkfred.

Paired with some Aspinal sunglasses, the draped neckline and asymmetrical hemline of the dress make for a winning combination with this look.

Jules says: “Green can be depended upon for its friendly and oftentimes humanitarian nature.

"Wear for balance and heartfelt decision making and taking on new projects with a fresh outlook and an open mind. In its darker shade, it can help to overcome challenging situations offering strength as well as harmony.”

Orange

True to her signature fashion style of a glam fitted dress, the mother-of-two rocked this orange number from Karen Millen back in June last year.

Not wanting to just wear a bright orange dress she matched with a tangerine clutch.

Jules says: “Reflects an enthusiastic and warm-hearted personality and as this shade of orange is about optimism and sociability, maybe worn on a day when motivation and putting ideas into action was high on the agenda.”

Purple

Amanda can often be seen in a mixture of brands with anything from high street price up to designer.

For this lovely lilac look the presenter wore a Roland Mouret pencil skirt with Zadig & Voltaire blouse.

Jules says: “This is a beautifully calming shade of purple which indicates a creative mind, with visionary and leadership abilities.

"A colour chosen to enhance inspiration and purposefulness for whatever was planned that day or to simply enjoy being in a more meditative and contemplative place.”

Blue

Taking pride in her collection with Fenn Wright Manson Amanda stepped out in this powder blue suit last June from her range.

Wearing a Chloe bag she kept it casual, straying away from her beloved heels in favour of some white trainers.

Jules says: “This a calming zone to wear, and helps to feel and look cool, composed and in control.

"Blue is the great communicator, highlighting diplomatic speech, and someone who can be relied upon on in a trusting and loyal way.”
