Kate Middleton is a big fan of tennis and is regularly spotted in the audience of major matches.
Today, the Princess of Wales attended day 13 of Wimbledon for the ladies’ singles final, where she watched Czech player Marketa Vondrousova take on Tunisian Ons Jabeur for the Venus Rosewater Dish.
Sat beside tennis legend Billie Jean King in the Royal Box,her eyes were firmly on the court.
Yet her style – as ever – was turning heads.
Mirroring the neon green of the balls in play, Kate sported a stunning lime midi dress by Self-Portrait for the occasion.
The piece featured a short-sleeved boucle peplum jacket on the top half and a flowing pleated skirt on the bottom, with pocket detailing and a waist belt accentuating the shape.
It appeared to be a custom version of a £420 dress currently available from Self-Portrait, tailored to feature a higher, collared neckline and without lace on the skirt.
The brand is a favourite for Kate, who recently went for a similar delicate all-white number for the reopening of the National Portrait Gallery.
We also saw the mum-of-three in Self-Portrait at an event celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, as well as a striking sparkly knit from the label while presenting Royal Carols: Together at Christmas towards the end of last year.
On her lapel, the Princess paid tribute to the tournament with a bow in the signature purple and dark green colours.
She finished off the look with a gold thin bangle on her wrist and £5,430 Cassandra Goad pearl and diamond earrings, alongside a light pink suede clutch bag from another of her favourite brands, Emmy London.
Before the first serve, Kate delighted a maintenance manager at the All England Lawn Tennis Club – of which she is a patron – by saying he had ‘saved the day’ for fixing a leak in the Court One shop the day before.
Billy Lewis said he was surprised she had been told of his efforts, which were said to have saved thousands of pounds worth of merchandise from water damage.
The Princess of Wales also met Philippa George, who tossed the coin for the Wimbledon women’s singles final after being nominated as a representative of the Riding For The Disabled charity.
Kate asked about her Wimbledon-themed nail polish and whether Ms George had been practising for the toss, describing her as ‘such an inspiration to so many people’.
Ms George, 27, said after the meeting: ‘It was so special. She was asking me about my nails and talked to me about how I like horses.
‘She was really happy that I was here… It means so much.
‘It is such an honour to be here and being part of all this. I am so grateful to have this opportunity.’
