Me and my kids are McDonald’s superfans but I hate having a messy car so found a £2.50 solution to stop spills | The Sun

A MUM has shared how she’s come up with a clever trick so that she and her McDonald’s loving family can eat their takeaway meals in the car – but without the mess.

A social media user who runs a TikTok account dedicated to “mum hacks, tips and tricks” said she and her kids liked to tuck into the fast food treat from time to time, but she didn’t want to risk anything being spilled on her car seats.

So the woman, whose profile is @majorbuncehome, decided to get inventive and think up a way of serving her children McDonald’s that wouldn’t get them in a state.

That’s when it dawned on the mum-of-four – she spotted some plastic art caddies with four separate compartments while out and about and bought them one each.

And the best part is they only cost around £2.50 from supermarkets or the high street, and can also be used for other things in between.

Showing her handy hack in action, @majorbuncehome unpacked the kids’ chosen meals – putting a burger in one compartment, a portion of fries in another, and their drink and McFlurry in the last two quadrants.

“Whether you’re travelling for a family holiday, or you’re coming back from swimming, they go on top of each other and pack away nice and neatly.”

She added that this means that they “don’t take up room in the car” and can be stored away in between uses.

@majorbuncehome went on to tell her 32.6k followers: “We love using the art caddies for snacks and food in the car.

“They stop the car from getting in a mess, and it’s a lot easier for the kids to hold all their food and snacks.

“All the crumbs and sauces stay in the caddy and not all over your car and on the floor.”

The savvy mum also said she’s discovered other uses for the colourful plastic containers since she bought them.

She revealed: “We also take the caddies to the cinema. What I love is you can divide all the snacks and they aren’t all over the floor.

“We also use them for movie nights at home.”
