Meghan Markle news – Duchess' image is 'PLUMMETING' in the US as 'bewildered' fans question why she keeps royal title | The Sun

MEGHAN Markle's image is 'plummeting' in the US as 'bewildered' fans question why the Duchess keeps her royal title despite 'speaking out so much against the monarchy'.

Following a new YouGov poll, just 45 percent now have a "favourable or somewhat favourable" view of the Duchess of Sussex.

Nile Gardiner, a royal expert revealed: "The popularity of Meghan and Harry in the US has declined significantly over the course of the year, and that will continue to decline.

"The image of Meghan is plummeting in the US as it is in the UK.

"The Queen is hugely admired in the US, as is Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

"Meghan's image is significantly falling in the US."

Mr Gardiner also claimed Royal Family fans in the US are "bewildered" as to why Meghan still retains her Duchess of Sussex title.

He said: "Many Americans are bewildered as to why she is still the Duchess of Sussex when she speaks out so much against the monarchy. There is no good reason she still holds a royal title."

'I think that Diana’s influence has lasted longer than anybody thought'

PRINCE HARRY never makes a decision without first thinking what is mother would have wanted, Andrew Morton has said.

The expert described Harry and William as the "torchbearers" for Diana's memory, and highlighted how the late Princess changed the royals forever.

Morton told the Mirror: “I think that Diana’s influence has lasted longer than anybody thought because her torchbearers in life, William and Harry, have not forgotten her and have held concerts in her memory.

“Harry himself says that he never makes a decision without referring it to her in a spiritual sense.

“She marked a turning point in the way the Royal Family behaved and through her behaviour helped to modernise and make more human the Royal Family.

“So it wasn’t big handbags, white gloves and standoffish. It was more touchy-feely than it had ever been in the past. So she made the Royal Family more relevant to modern times.”

Mr Fitzwilliams continued: “Princess Eugenie, who gets on with them, very likely was involved in that.”

The Princess was likely able to use her close bond with the couple to manage tensions.

“It was a massive celebration, the whole thing was superbly handled.”

'A bloodbath on all sides': What would happen should the palaces Meghan review be revealed

A royals expert has claimed the monarchy could fall apart should Buckingham Palace unveil their Meghan Markle review.

Express.co.uk reports that Newsweek's chief royal correspondent Jack Royston said on The Royal Report podcast that releasing the findings of a review into the Duchess’ supposed bullying would appear bad for all sides.

He said: “I think basically if that report were published it would be a complete bloodbath on all sides and nobody would come out of it looking any good at all.

"I think Buckingham Palace will have taken one look at this and thought 'we're just going to look awful—this is going to make us look absolutely appalling' and if every single fact and allegation came out I just think it would be a complete mud fight and there would be mud over everybody."

PWCF chairman Sir Ian Cheshire said on Friday: “At a few hours’ notice from The Sunday Times, we have checked into this event in the past, and confirm that the previous trustees of PWCF discussed the governance and donor relationship, (confirming that the donor was a legitimate and verified counterparty) and our auditors signed off on the donation after a specific enquiry during the audit. She told Fabulous: “In the years before he met Kate, William was often seen performing what is known as the fig-leaf pose, with his hands clasped in front of his torso at roughly the same place as a fig leaf would sit on a classical nude statue.”

The gesture is a self-protective barrier ritual that tends to be adopted when a guy feels uncomfortable, shy or defensive.”

Kate was ‘almost a prisoner’ at Kensington Palace, expert claims

Royal expert and author Ingrid Seward has spoken of the Cambridges’ move away from Kensington Palace, claiming it could give the Duchess some much needed freedom.

She told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: “I think what William and Catherine will have for their children is the freedom they didn’t have at Kensington Palace.

“I remember Harry saying to a friend of mine that Catherine was almost a prisoner at Kensington Palace, and I thought don’t be ridiculous, it’s the most gorgeous place to live in London!

“Then I thought, in a way they are prisoners, they have a beautiful house and garden but beyond that garden are hundreds of people every day and massive security.

“Catherine can’t walk in the park like Diana used to, as times have changed.

“The only place to go is a field where the helicopters land, so you are very imprisoned. Everyone knows what you’re doing and where you are.”

Megxit was planned TWO YEARS in advance

Harry and Meghan reportedly planned to quit the royal family just sixth months after they first married, according to Andrew Morton

Speaking on the Mirror's Pod Save The Queen podcast, the expert said: " Harry was having conversations in a London hotel with Oprah Winfrey back in November 2018, just six months after they'd been married.

"So they were thinking about a different direction of travel pretty early on.

"The irony is they had been given the keys to the first class lounge when Prince Harry was given the position of Youth Ambassador to the Commonwealth.

He said: "The great tragedy, I think, is that Meghan and Harry didn't give it long enough to see whether they could give it a go. They were on the out almost before the wedding music had finished."

Life begins at 40 for Prince William

The old adage that “Life begins at 40” may be true for the Duke of Cambridge as he gears up for a more prominent role in the decade ahead.

William appears ready to embark on the next step of his life in the monarchy that will ultimately see him become king after channelling his efforts into issues like mental health, homelessness and protecting the environment.

Married to wife Kate for more than 10 years and with a young family – they will be the face of the modern monarchy for decades to come.

With the death of his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh and his brother the Duke of Sussex stepping down as a working royal, his position as a senior royal is even more pivotal and he appears to have played a part in the “family decision” to limit the Duke of York’s role at the recent Garter Day service.

William’s early life was overshadowed by the death of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales in a Paris car crash in 1997 and he still speaks about her influence, including how as a young boy she took him to a shelter for rough sleepers and introduced him to the issue of homelessness.

He found love at university meeting fellow student Kate Middleton, who he would wed in 2011 at Westminster Abbey, and the couple went on to have three children, firstborn George – also a future king – in 2013, followed by Charlotte in 2015 and Louis in 2018.
