Mrs Hinch fan says a B&M toy will keep unwanted cats out of your garden & swears she hasn’t seen one since trying it | The Sun

A MRS Hinch fan has revealed the very unusual way she keeps unwanted cats out of her garden.

A woman pleaded for help and advice because some local cats keep messing up her garden.

She took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips group on Facebook to ask for tips, writing: "Is there anything you can do to stop cats going/pooing in your garden?

"Feel so bad saying that, cause I know it’s a natural thing for them, but it’s so difficult when you’ve little ones and there’s poo everywhere."

She was quickly inundated with suggestions, but there was one that stuck out.

"Get dog toy snakes from b & m," one wrote.

"I tried everything and nothing worked, had toy snakes in garden for 5 weeks and no cats have been near."

The plastic snakes, which are usually used to hide dog treats in, are just £3.50 from the budget store.

Others offered their own tips, with one writing: "Try Lolly sticks put Vick on the top of them and put into the ground where they are going with the Vick up too."

"Fill empty bottles of water and put them down," another suggested.

"I placed empty milk bottles in between plants," someone else wrote.

"It took a little time but no more cats and slowly removed individual bottles.

"If they return and poop put the bottle back. This does work, but like everything takes time."

While another commented: "If you can catch the cats in your garden use high power water guns or a hose pipe to deter them, it’s a shock and negative experience without causing them any injury or actual pain.

"The water will often cause such a shock they won’t risk coming back."

"I used to have this problem bought 3 of those sonic gadgets off amazon 3 yrs ago and not had any cats since," someone else raved.
