My daughter’s bedroom looked lovely but the window was killing the vibe – until I gave it a £6 makeover | The Sun

A MUM has shared how she gave her daughter’s bedroom window a mini makeover after she thought it was “killing the vibe” of the space.

Emma Earley loved what she’d done with her little girl’s room, including sage green floral wallpaper and pink hues.

However, the mum-of-four couldn’t help but think that the plain window was oddly distracting.

So Emma decided to take action and instead came up with the idea of creating a paned window that wouldn’t look out of place in a cute cottage.

But she made things extra hard for herself when she set a strict £10 or under budget – and she passed with flying colours.

In a video on her TikTok profile @pagesofemma, she explained: “My daughter’s bedroom is looking great, but this window is killing the vibe.

The parent then added in the caption: “Faux cottage windows for less than £10.

“My favourite low cost budget decor idea yet.”

Emma then unveiled exactly how she did it, as she continued: “I got this white vinyl tape on Amazon home for around £6 and I love the final effect.”

She then went on to share the step by step process, and how others could follow her lead and do it too.

Emma explained: “First, I cleaned the windows and then measured out where I wanted my faux panes to go using a measuring tape.

“I marked with pencil and then used the car tape to join the dots.

“I scraped out any little air bubbles and then… voila!”

Emma then showed the finished look, as her social media followers rushed to like the video and have their say.

One wrote: “GENIUS. Looks amazing!”

A second person said: “Obsessed with this!!! Well done you.”

A third typed: “Thank you, love it, stunning.”
