My son had outgrown his animal themed bedroom, so I updated it but didn’t spend a penny – here’s how | The Sun

HAS your child outgrown the decor in their bedroom, but you can’t afford to fork out a fortune on renovating it?

Never fear, as one savvy mum has shared how you can still give it a makeover – but without spending a single penny.

The Budgeting Mum, who has made a name for herself on social media thanks to her simple but effective tips, revealed she’d done just that when it came to her son’s bedroom.

When he was younger, The Budgeting Mum had decorated her little boy’s room with an animal theme, including pictures of dinosaurs on the wall.

However, she said he had grown up fast and that she wanted to change things up in his bedroom.

And she came up with a genius way to do just that but without having to pay out.

In a recent video posted to her account @budgetingmum, she explained: “Here’s a really cheap way to upgrade the decor in your kids’ rooms.

“I had these frames with dinosaurs in, but they’re a bit young for my little boy.

“So I’ve picked up this free wallpaper sample in B&Q,”  she told her 78.3k followers, as she showed a superhero themed wallpaper.

Next, she cut it to the size of the frames and simply mounted them inside.

She continued: “I cut around them for the frames and it’s a quick, easy fix to update the decor in the room.”

The Budgeting Mum then showed off the finished results, as the frames looked good as new and more age-appropriate for her son.

And she was over the moon with her “budget hack,” as she wrote alongside the post: “Pretty chuffed with how they’ve come out.”

But the TikToker wasn’t the only one – as her following were quick to heap praise on her for her idea.

One person wrote: “Wonderful.”

A second added: “Love this!”

As a third simply said: “Brilliant.”

Meanwhile, other social media users said they were going to follow in her footsteps.
