WHEN getting dressed in the morning – have you ever wondered why there are two buttons but only one buttonhole on the cuff of your sleeve?
Well, it turns out there’s a very good reason for it and it’s blowing people’s minds.
Joe, a stylist, revealed the exact reason why there are two buttons over on his TikTok account, joe_x_style.
In the video, he said: “Have you ever wondered why you have two buttons and only one buttonhole on your shirt sleeve?”
And no, the button isn’t a spare in case one falls off.
Joe revealed the real reason there are two buttons and it actually makes a lot of sense once you realise why.

He explained that there are two buttons so that you can have the sleeve on your nondominant hand slightly looser to fit a watch underneath.
Joe added: “On your dominant arm, in my case I’m right-handed, you want to do the tightest button.

“On your less dominant arm, you’re going to be doing the looser button because you wear your watch on your less dominant arm.”
This allows for an even amount of shirt cuff to be shown when you throw a blazer on top to keep it looking symmetrical and smart.
