Prince William ‘looks sharp’ in suit that Harry is not allowed to wear

Prince William welcomed the New Zealand Prime Minister, Chris Hipkins, to Windsor Castle on Tuesday, where he wore a blue tartan suit. This tartan was made from the Prince of Wales fabric tartan, which only William is permitted to wear in the Royal Family.

Prince Harry, for instance, is not the Prince of Wales, therefore he can not wear the tartan in public for official appearances.

Instead he opts for more contemporary pieces such as his £800 Dior white shirt with a single bee embroidered into the fabric.

Interestingly, the Prince of Wales pattern was released by the Vyella Co company in the early 19th century.

King Charles frequently wore the fabric during his years as the Prince of Wales.

William paired his tartan suit with his “Stair H tie” from Hermès which he has worn many times before.

Described as “the tie that takes you places”, it retails for £205 and is a hand-sewn silk luxurious accessory.

Royal fans loved the dapper suit that the Prince of Wales wore to meet the New Zealand Prime Minister on Tuesday.
