Shoppers rush to their local supermarket to nab kids’ school dresses that have been reduced to just £1 | The Sun

WITH warmer temperatures just around the corner, if you have a little one, you may need to start thinking about their spring school uniform. 

If your child is ready to ditch the tights and skirt and get a summer school dress on, then you’ve come to the right place.


Sainsbury’s shoppers are scrambling to get to their nearest store to check out the cut-price kids’ dresses and you won’t want to miss it.

So if you don't want to fork out on a new dress for your little one and are eager to nab a bargain, you’ll want to listen up.

Eagle-eyed shoppers noticed that some Sainsbury’s stores had reduced their kids’ school dresses, to just £1 each. 

One savvy shopper, Michelle Hope, proudly took to Facebook yesterday to show off her epic cut-price buys, leaving many stunned.

Posting in the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, which has 2.2million members, bargain hunter Michelle shared a picture of her cheap buys. 

She said: “Summer dresses reduced to £1 [in] Sainsbury’s, some packs of two.”

Michelle shared a picture of her bargain buys – five red and white children’s dresses, which were originally £6 each, but had been reduced to just a quid each.

So Michelle made sure to get five dresses, costing her just £5 in total.

She got three dresses at age eight and two dresses at age seven. 

And don’t worry if red isn’t the colour of your child’s uniform rules – as Michelle confirmed that she also spotted the cheap dresses in blue and green too. 

Michelle’s post has clearly impressed many, as it was shared just 15 hours ago, but has quickly amassed 521 likes and 798 comments.

Many mums were left open-mouthed at Michelle’s haul and were eager to get their hands on the cheap dresses.

One person said: “Bargain!! If we ever get any warm weather haha.”

Another added: “I always buy summer for next year so buy the size up in the sales saves loads of money.” 

A third commented: “I'll pop in there tomorrow.” 

Whilst another bargain hunter remarked: “I never ever see these bargains in our Sainsbury’s!” 

At the same time, many parents tagged their friends and loved ones, asking them to keep a look out for the bargain buys.

One mother tagged a friend and asked: “Will you have a look tomorrow?”

A second asked a loved one: “Can you check for Rosie if you go she’s red.”
