The grout in my bathroom was so grim I wanted to move out – I got it clean with a 'steam shot' and the results were wow | The Sun

CLEANING grout can be a bit of a chore, but one woman has proved why you should never skip it.

Posting on Instagram, the cleaning whizz explained she'd recently moved into an old house and was stunned by how grim the grout was.

She shared a clip of what the grout looked like on her bathroom floor when she first moved in.

"Just moved into a 100-year-old house and the bathroom grout keeps me up at night," she said.

Sure enough, the grout in between the floor tiles was basically black leaving the homeowner feeling a bit sick.

She got straight to work with her Bissell steam shot machine to lift decades worth of grime.

Amazingly, the dirt came right off, revealing a much lighter colour underneath.

When the homeowner saw just how much dirt there really was she was stunned.

"I know I've just moved in but I'm ready to move out lol," she said.

Although the steamer got rid of most of the grime she decided to follow it up with a good mop and some disinfected just to make sure.

After a good scrub and one last go of the steamer on some of the nooks and crannies the bathroom floor looked miles better.

Other cleaning fans were amazed she managed to get the grout looking so clean and loved the steam machine she used.

One said: "There is tool for that now?!?! All those HOURS I spent doing that with a TOOTHBRUSH GROWING UP, FOR NOTHING!!?"

A second commented: "Wait that steamer is amazing."

But others thought the homeowner was being a bit too dramatic about the dirt.

"Of course it's dirty, grout is porous. Just clean it and get over it," one slammed.
