IT'S an often lengthy process that can result in tears.
So one woman has left people stunned by showing how she chops an onion quickly and easily – without even using a chopping board.
Giuseppe took to TikTok share a video of "how my Italian aunt dices an onion without a chopping board".
In the clip, his aunt was seen holding a white onion over a frying pain – using a sharp knife to cut lines into the top of the vegetable, horizontally and vertically.
Once she'd done that enough, she used her knife to slice the onion, with all the bits she'd diced falling easily into the pan.
She then began the process again, adding the slits into the top of the onion before slicing off the top section.

To which Giuseppe replied: "Stops dirtying a chopping board or making is smell, and everything goes straight in the bowl so no need to transfer."
"The pieces are so uneven lol I could never," another added.
"No because my hand would smell like onion for the next 3 days," a third said.
