MARILYN Monroe had two siblings that she was unaware of until she was nearly 12-year-old, including a half-brother, Robert.
Before Marilyn was born, her mother Gladys Baker had already given birth to two children with another man, but what happened to them?
Who was Marilyn Monroe's half-brother Robert?
Robert Kermitt Baker and sister Berniece Baker Miracle were born out of Gladys Baker's first marriage to Jasper Newton Baker, however when she tried to end the relationship, he kidnapped the children and took them to Kentucky.
Marilyn's half brother, also known as "Robert Jasper", "Jackie" or "Kermitt" was born on January 16 1918.
Not much is known about Robert but records show he may have lived an equally tragic life as that of his half-sister.
When he was 3-years-old it is reported his partents were arguing while driving a convertible and Robert fell from the car, injuring his hip.

His leg never recovered and he would walk with a limp for the remainder of his life.
There was also an incident at a 4th of July party when he took a firecracker and put it into a Coke bottle which then exploded, causing him to lose his right eye.
How old was Robert when he died?
Roberty tragically died on August 16 1933, when he was only 15-years-old.
The little boy's leg had been placed in a cast after he fell out of the car when he was three, but when they removed it they discovered one leg was shorter than the other.

The cast had not allowed it to grow properly and this led to heath difficulities which resulted in Robert in and out of hospital until he died.
Close to his death, Robert was diagnosed with tuberculosis of the bone and placed in a Louisville hospital.
He died of a kidney failure as a result of the tuberculosis, as the organ could not continue to fight the infection.
He did not know anything about his half sister when he passed away and is buried at Flat Lick, Knox County, Kentucky
What did Marilyn say about her brother's death?
There is nothing much said about Mariyln's reaction to her half-brother's untimely death.
However half sister Berniece, claims in her book ‘My Sister Marilyn: A Memoir of Marilyn Monroe,’ that her brother was simply "unlucky.”

When Gladys heard of her son's death she reportedly took out her grief on Marilyn, and said: “Why couldn’t it have been you?” while screaming repeatedly.
Not long after this Gladys suffered a mental breakdown.
