Woman shares genius trick to stop your cat from climbing up your Christmas tree…and all you need is tin foil | The Sun

ANY cat owner will know that kittens and Christmas trees don't usually go too well together.

That's because cats are often intrigued by the bright lights, hanging baubles and rustling tinsel – not to mention the fact they have a passion for climbing.

But according to one cat owner, there's a super easy way to cat-proof your tree this Christmas – and all you need is some tin foil.

In a clip shared to TikTok (@oliviaculverr), a woman named Olivia shows a snap of her tree and says: "So we put this up two days ago and immediately Zig got all up in there and was climbing all the way up, so I researched how to stop cats from getting in the tree.

"There were so many people that said to put foil underneath the tree, so basically an entire layer of foil going up, because cats don't like foil."

After trying out the suggestion for herself, Olivia shared her verdict.
