A PROFESSIONAL hairdresser has shared the right way to wash your hair – and turns out, hopping in the shower is not the answer.
Whether you do it every day or a few times a week, most of us tend to wash our hair standing in the shower – but according to one expert, Rachel Valentine, you might be better of doing it whilst bending over the bath.
Taking to TikTok, the pro shared the benefits behind this method – and if you want to make your hair grow faster, then keep on reading.
One of the reasons the whizz has opted for the technique is finding it easier to reach all areas of her scalp, Rachel insisted in the video.
What's more, washing your hair over the bath also makes applying masks and other specific treatments less messy and difficult to apply.
Informing her 77.6k fans on the platform, the hairdresser also claimed that having your head upside down has its benefits, such as adding blood flow to your scalp.

This, in turn, brings oxygen and other nutrients for the locks as well, assisting in growth and maintenance of your hair follicles, the pros as Vedix explained.

Rachel also added that washing your hair upside down is great for the environment as it can save water, as well as preventing the so-called ''bacne'' or back acne.
Whilst there are many culprits to this skin condition, such as sweaty clothing and even hot showers, research suggests that haircare products can also be to blame.

This, Real Simple reported, is especially worrying when your favourite shampoo or conditioner has been formulated with occlusive ingredients such as oil and butters that can clog up your pores.
"Hair conditioner is meant to be very occlusive, so your hair is hydrated and moisturized," explained one expert, Dr. Sobel.

Speaking of washing out any excess product, Rachel added that this method makes getting rid of all the conditioner easier – and there won't be any nasty build-up in your roots.
