Bikini-clad mum, 65, stuns at Sports Illustrated show with daughter, 29

A super hot mum proved age is just a number when she strutted on a catwalk wearing just the skimpiest of bikinis alongside her gorgeous lookalike daughter.

But then Denise Austin isn't your average middle-aged mum.

At the age of 65, when most women have swapped bikinis for control shape swimsuits, Denise looked better than ever.

She wore just a tiny bikini when she took to the stage in the prestigious Sports Illustrated show in Miami, US, next to her mini-me daughter, Katie.

As she sashayed down the catwalk next to 29-year-old Katie, it was clear fitness guru Denise hadn't given into middle-aged spread or let anything sag.

Even though Denise is now officially a pensioner, she looks as good as she did 30 years ago. And that's all down to her decades-long career in the United States as a fitness and health expert.

Denise told Fox News Digital how much she enjoyed strutting her stuff alongside her daughter.

She said it was the first time the magazine had had a mother daughter combo in its runway show.

"It was the most incredible feeling in the world to walk the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show with my daughter Katie," she said.

"I am truly a proud mama! It was such a great mother/daughter moment that was priceless."

And she said she hoped it would encourage other women over 50 to be more confident about their bodies.

For Katie it was equally special, saying her mother was her inspiration and encouraged her to keep fit and healthy.

"My mom is my inspiration for everything," Katie said. "She’s my biggest supporter, mentor and best friend who encouraged me to do Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, so the fact I can walk with her in the show is a full circle moment."

Both mother and daughter have enjoyed successful careers in health and fitness. Katie is a qualified fitness trainer and health coach and also one of Instagram's top 10 fitness influencers.

She has also been a fitness and nutrition expert on numerous American television shows, including The Today Show, Hollywood Today Live, The Doctors, and Home & Family.

Her mother, who has two children, was one of the fitness gurus of the 1990s, with her workout videos flying off the shelves.

And she has managed to stay in incredible shape into her 50s and 60s – although she's the first to admit that hadn't been easy.

She recently admitted in a magazine interview: "I'm not immune to weight fluctuations. Like most women at this age, my once-reliable body started betraying me and fat began to accumulate around my belly and thighs."

To combat this middle-aged spread she changed her fitness routine and started to mix up what she did – switching between cardio, toning and stretching workouts.

"I'm not an exercise fanatic – with a career and kids, I can't be. In fact, I do only 30 minutes of official exercise a day," she revealed.
