Celebrities who've had weight loss transformations in recent months

There must be something in the water! FEMAIL reveals the MANY stars who’ve dazzled with dramatic slim downs in recent months – from Oprah to Khloe Kardashian – fueling a furious wave of ‘have they or haven’t they’ Ozempic speculation

  • Many stars have undergone body transformations since the rise of Ozempic
  • A few have admitted to using the drug while others have denied it
  • Some have stayed tight-lipped about how they lost weight, raising eyebrows

Many of Hollywood’s most well known faces have undergone major body transformations in recent months.

And their sudden slim downs are very interestingly timed with the rise of the popular weight-loss drug Ozempic.

While some celebrities have admitted to using the medication to shed some pounds, like Tesla creator Elon Musk, others have vehemently denied turning to the drug – and have insisted that they achieved their weight loss naturally, like Khloe Kardashian, Kyle Richards, and Brittany Cartwright.

Others have stayed tight-lipped about how they were able to accomplished their svelte figures – leaving many people on the web wondering if they had help from Ozempic.

The drug is usually prescribed to individuals who have type two diabetes and need to improve their blood sugar, but it’s become wildly popular as a weight-loss aid ever since the FDA approved the active ingredient in it, semaglutide, for weight management.

It acts like a hormone in the brain, and causes people to feel less hungry while slowing the clearing of food from the stomach.

Ever since Ozempic became a phenomenon, a slew of famous faces have displayed stunning new physiques.

Earlier this week, self proclaimed ‘yo-yo dieter’ Oprah showed off her incredible figure when she attended a red carpet event – after spending years being fiercely honest about her struggles to lose weight.

Actress Mindy Kaling flaunted her 30 pound weight loss in a very-revealing swimsuit campaign earlier this month. And Jessica Simpson has continuously been putting her stunning body on display after revealing she had shed 100 pounds in 2020.

Here are all the stars who have showed off insane weight loss transformations since the drug was skyrocketed into popularity – and what each of them has said about how they shed the pounds.

Mindy Kaling

Mindy (seen right this month and left in late 2021) has lost over 30lbs in the past year – but she insisted she lost it by reducing the portion size of her meals and getting active

The actress, 43, flaunted her stunning new figure earlier this month, when she became the latest face of Andie Swim and posed a slew of figure-hugging swimsuits for the brand

While discussing the shoot with People , she gushed, ‘I feel great. I’m feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I’ve been able to say for my whole life’

While discussing the shoot with People, she gushed, ‘I feel great. I’m feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I’ve been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately.

‘I know people are really interested in my body and the changes in my body, and I think it’s flattering but sometimes it’s just a little much, so I don’t try to tune it in too much. The truth is that I spend so much time and energy trying to be healthy.’

The mother-of-two told the outlet that getting plenty of exercise and controlling how much she ate was key to achieving her slim physique.

‘I just tell myself I have to do basically 20 miles a week of either hiking or running. And so that’s been incredibly helpful to me,’ she said. ‘It’s hard with two kids [but] I wake up really early and I fit it in.’

‘I just tell myself I have to do basically 20 miles a week of either hiking or running. And so that’s been incredibly helpful to me,’ she said

Mindy also spoke about her transformation in April 2022, and she put a rest to rumors that she had done something dramatic to lose weight.

‘Honestly, I didn’t really do anything differently,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘I eat what I like to eat. If I do any kind of restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I just eat less of it.

‘I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but that’s the way I’ve done it.’

While Mindy has insisted that small lifestyle changes contributed to her stunning new look, she did make a joke that she wanted to get on Ozempic during the Academy Awards in March 2023.

‘Everybody looks so great. When I look around this room, I can’t help but wonder, “Is Ozempic right for me?”‘ she joked as she addressed the audience.

‘It was such a challenge,’ Kim, 42, told Vogue of trying to  slim down for the dress at the event.

‘It was like a [movie] role. I was determined to fit [into] it. I haven’t had carbs or sugar in about three weeks.’

After facing backlash for her admission, the reality star insisted she ‘didn’t do anything unhealthy’ to lose weight and that the experience forced her to analyze her ‘lifestyle and health’ overall.

‘It took something really bad in my life, which was my divorce – I turned it into a positive. I decided to turn to fitness as a form of therapy and as a stress reliever.’

‘It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but [more about], “How do I keep whatever I am doing now forever?”‘ her trainer told E! News.

‘We are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise.’

While losing 100 pounds in such a short amount of time was very impressive, she told Today in 2021 that she wasn’t focused on the number.

‘I have no idea how much I weigh. I just want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up,’ she said at the time.

By the early 1990s, the self-confessed yo-yo dieter was at her heaviest – 237 pounds – and feeling ‘so ashamed’ to have ‘joined the ranks of the perpetually obese’ that she said she could hardly look people in the eye.

She recalled feeling like a ‘big fat failure.’ But after connecting with a personal trainer at a spa in Colorado, he helped inspire her to turn things around.

For years after that, Oprah’s weight fluctuated. With the help of her new trainer, it dropped down to 160 pounds by 2006, but within two years after that, it was back up to 200 pounds.

At the time, she said a condition that had made her thyroid overactive was to blame for the weight gain, and admitted that she was once again feeling ‘defeated’ and was just about ready to ‘give up’ and let ‘fat win.’

However, in 2015, she joined forces with the company Weight Watchers, and within a year, she said she had lost 40 pounds through the program. Now, Oprah is looking thinner than almost ever before.

And while she hasn’t spoken out specifically about her recent weight loss, she has continuously insisted for years that sticking to WW’s program, eating healthy, and moving as much as possible are how she maintains her figure.

She once told O magazine that she ‘averages about ‘1,700 well-balanced calories daily,’ and that she loves to eat ‘fresh foods prepared simply’ to help keep her ‘sodium levels low.’

She also explained that she tries to consume 34g of fiber and 1,100mg of calcium a day.

‘Her diet is about 20 per cent protein, 30 per cent fat, and 50 per cent carbohydrates,’ the outlet added.

Hydration is also key for the talk show host, with her telling WW that she drinks half a gallon (64 ounces) of water a day. She has also said that she tries to walk at least 10,000 steps a day.

Kyle has been flaunting her very svelte physique recently, but she has insisted on multiple occasions that she did not slim down with the help of Ozempic.

While speaking to Art Bodega Magazine earlier this month, she said the rumors that she had taken the drug were ‘simply not true,’ and instead credited a new fitness regime with how she achieved her enviable new look.

‘If people think that I would take any drugs to lose weight, that is simply not true. I’ve worked very hard,’ she said.

The actress and socialite, 54, explained that she studies ‘ways to take care of herself diligently’ and is ‘concerned’ about her health ‘on a daily basis.’

She also revealed that she had stopped drinking alcohol and eliminated unhealthy foods.

‘I’ve read studies of how alcohol can affect you. I used to drink very moderately, not even two glasses of wine and I would get hungry all the time [after I drank]. I would start eating cookies – it was so unhealthy,’ she continued.

She said she wakes up early and goes to the gym for two hours every day, and also enjoys ‘biking and hiking.’ She’s seen right in February and left in 2021

‘That prompted my decision to quit alcohol, start exercising more. I was in a better mood – why change that?’

She said she wakes up early and goes to the gym for two hours every day, and also enjoys ‘biking and hiking.’

‘I work very, very, hard to be healthy. I read all the books about how to feel better, for my own wellbeing,’ she shared.

‘It’s important to take care of yourself, and that’s why I quit drinking 10 months ago. It has allowed me to lose weight and feel amazing… inside and out.’

Kyle previously told DailyMail.com that she found it frustrating to see her hard work dismissed as the result a ‘cheat drug.’

‘When people try to blame my appearance on surgery or Ozempic, which would be completely irresponsible to use when diabetics can’t get their hands on it, it’s really frustrating to me,’ she said.

‘It bothers me. I’d rather just inspire people with what I’m doing so they can try the same things I’ve been doing and see what happens to them.’

Harley told Elite Daily in 2019 that Gaga was focused on boosting her ‘confidence’ rather than losing weight.

‘Confidence is everything, so taking control of the way you move and the way you eat to change the confidence you have in your body, often that means changing your body,’ he explained.

‘But with that comes a lot of confidence. And also having the stamina and endurance to be able to keep up with her tours and her exhaustive stage shows.’
