Celebrity brides’ rarely seen second wedding dresses including Jacqueline Jossa’s gown

When it comes to weddings, it’s safe to say that one of the most memorable parts about the day is a bride’s wedding dress.

From sweeping trains to princess skirts, all eyes will be on the blushing bride as they embark on a new life with the man or woman of their dreams.

But when it comes to celebrity weddings, one dress is rarely enough – with several of our beloved showbiz brides opting for outfit changes following the ceremony as they prepare to boogie the night away after tying the knot.

While several stars are usually keen to show off all their outfits as they capture their special day, some brides are altogether more private, preferring to keep the intimate details to themselves until a later date.

Here, we take a closer look back at some of the rarely seen second wedding dresses worn by our favourite stars.

Nicola Hughes

When Made in Chelsea’s very own Nicola Hughes tied the knot with the love of her life Charlie Tupper back in August 2021, the internet was flooded with pictures of the stunning bride in her wedding gown by Bon Bridé.

The stunning plain white gown featured a Bardot style off-the-shoulder neckline, while long sleeves and a low plunging back offered a unique twist on a classic look.

To complete her look, Nicola opted to wear her hair in a neat and elegant chignon, while NUE Hoop earrings pulled the entire look together with a delicate but stylish detail.

There was no doubt Nicola looked flawless in her gown, but it was a far cry from the second dress she donned later in the day, which was far more heavily embellished.

Changing into a second wedding gown for the reception, Nicola opted for an equally stunning heavily beaded ensemble, that was comprised of a sheer fabric adorned with multiple intricate rows of beadwork and sequins.

The dress also featured a completely different silhouette, with the star even exposing a flash of her toned leg thanks to a daring thigh high split.

It was this second gown that Nicola wore when she and Charlie cut her wedding cake together on her magical day.

Jacqueline Jossa

Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa also opted to showcase two dresses when she tied the knot with The Only Way Is Essex heartthrob Dan Osborne back in 2017.

Tucked away at a stunning Cheshire Manor House, Jacqueline opted for an ivory satin wedding dress for her first outfit of the day.

The beautiful gown, which featured a scalloped boat neckline and delicate lace sleeves was also compliment by a lace overlay and matching veil.

Alongside the elegant top, the dress also featured a full Princess style skirt with belted seaming and was perfectly styled alongside a refined undo and natural makeup.

However as the day progressed, the star soon changed into a second lavish gown, this time featuring a daring sweetheart neckline and jewelled waist belt, while a crisp satin skirt draped beautifully into a floor skimming design.

Cara De La Hoyde

In the Summer of 2019, Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey officially tied the knot after first falling in love during the second season of Love Island back in 2016.

For their intimate ceremony, the couple tied the knot at Preston Court Barn in Canterbury with just 120 of their closest friends and family there to celebrate the special occasion.

For her first dress of the day, Cara opted for a princess-style dress designed by Say Yes To The Dress star Christine Dando.

The luxury gown featured a large tulle embellished skirt, chapel length train and a daring lave v-neck bodice with panelling that extended down into the dreamy cloud-like skirt.

For her second gown, Cara opted for a far more streamlined silhouette, as she donned a sleek figure hugging mermaid dress, this time with a heavily beaded skirt and sheer lace halter-necked bodice.

Showcasing the dress while enjoying her first dance with Nathan, the star looked sensational as the skirt cascaded around the floor while showing off her impressive figure.

Another snap taken from the event also showed how striking the back of the gown was, as a sheer back was adorned with beautiful trails of lace flowers and delicate white buttons.

Kate Middleton

One of the most memorable weddings of recent years was the royal wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William all the way back in 2011.

Kate’s iconic Sarah Burton wedding dress delighted fans around the world as she finally said ‘I do’ to the man of her dreams in a lavish state ceremony watched all around the globe.

The formal dress, which featured a striking a-line silhouette, lace sleeved and a delicate V neckline, soon paved the way to copycats as many fans raced to recreate the timeless look for themselves.

However as is tradition, Kate also wore a second wedding dress later in the evening too, although to this day, only one image of the beautiful garment has ever been released to the public.

The second gown, which was also designed by Sarah Burton, involved a far less voluminous skirt with beaded belt, yet still boasted the same a-line silhouette and was a champagne hue rather than the crisp clean white of her first outfit.

Along with the dress, Kate also wore a fluffy cream cardigan to help stave off the Springtime chill as they night went on.

Nicola Peltz Beckham

One of the more recent weddings to opt for the trend of two dresses, was Nicola Peltz’s wedding to beau Brooklyn Beckham back in 2022.

The young couple tied the knot at Nicola’s parents home in sunny Miami, with the blushing bride opting for a stunning Valentino wedding gown complete with long train and lace veil.

In an interesting sartorial twist, rather than opting for sleeves, Nicola actually opted for a pair of elbow length lace gloves instead to complete her stylish ensemble.

Later in the evening however, Nicola swapped her formal gown for a more daring, yet equally flattering gown, this time with a low cut plunging neckline and seamed cups as she enjoyed the reception with her loved up husband.

Jennifer Lopez

Not content with just one dress, or even two, Jennifer Lopez donned a total of five wedding dresses when she tied the knot with Ben Affleck in 2022.

Split over two ceremonies, Jen opted for two white dresses at their first Las Vegas nuptials, before sporting a further three dresses at their second wedding celebration which took place at Ben’s $8.9 million Georgia home.

Starting the day off with a backless Ralph Lauren gown, Jen’s outfit featured a fishtail skirt that was made from 1000 individual handkerchiefs neatly stitched together.

She later swapped it for a vintage 1920’s style gown that was heavily embellished with pearls, sequins and Swarovski crystals, before changing yet again into a hooded frock with a statement keyhole neckline later in the evening.
