Christmas-mad mum hangs up festive decorations three months early

A Christmas-loving mum has decided to spread Christmas joy early this year, so she's already decorated the house ready for the festive season.

According to Grimsby Live, Heidi posted pictures of her festive house on Instagram this week to show how she managed to transform the family home into Santa’s grotto.

Even though some people may think it's way too early to get into the Christmas spirit, the mother surprisingly requested Christmas decorations for a homeware advertisement in partnership with online home and garden retailer Christow.

Since she shared the cheery snaps many people have commented to tell Heidi how excited they are for Christmas this year, with several people saying they're ready to get the decs out too.

According to Christow, customers have been eager for its 2022 Christmas stock to arrive with people having been waiting since July.

The demand for Christmas products was also up 225% in July and August compared to the same period in 2021.

Heidi, who is known as @the_flaherty_four on social media, had been commissioned by Christow to showcase some of its stock for the festive season.

The brand also agreed to gift a selection of products of her choice, but the company was left shocked when she said she’d like Christmas decorations as her gifted products.

Heidi said: “I wanted to decorate my home early as making my children and other people smile when they see the lights makes me think what is there not to love about getting into the Christmas spirit early on.

"Especially after the pandemic, I think it made us all realise there is truly no time like the present so why not?

"For now, I’m planning to only turn on the lights occasionally such as when we have friends over to ensure I’m not wasting energy and to keep costs to a minimum."

Her followers had a great surprise when she shared a snap of her home which was dressed up for Christmas in September.

She may be three months ahead of most people, but it's clear that the mum lifted the spirits of many.

One follower commented: “Oh my you’ve said the C word already!!!!”

But Heidi thinks she may be starting a trend, as some of her followers said they wanted to follow in her footsteps.

“Amazing. I need to start shopping for mine," one person added.

With home now dressed with Christow’s Light Up Sleigh and Reindeer, 6 Star Christmas Light, Large Star Christmas Light, and Maypole Christmas Tree, the family is thrilled to be the first people on the street to start celebrating the most wonderful time of the year.

Josh Piercy, ECommerce Director at Christow, added: "Since the pandemic we’ve seen a trend of people decorating their homes a lot earlier than before.

"We think that the hardships and isolation of the pandemic led people to want to get in the festive mood earlier to make up for the Christmases lost to the pandemic.

"Last year, we sold out of some of our products earlier due to the very early demand for products and some customers were disappointed when they went to purchase products in December.

"This year we’ve stocked up to ensure that we can cater to all customers, whether they want to purchase today or on Christmas Eve."
