Corrie star Bev Callard launches NEW fitness venture – 40 years since she drove fans wild with leotard-clad workouts | The Sun

Corrie star Bev Callard is launching her own fitness venture – almost 40 years since she first appeared on the box performing workouts.

She will be hosting her Beverley’s Results at a gym close to her home.

The Liz McDonald legend – now 65 – has just moved from Manchester to Norfolk and asked for 25 local ladies to join her.

She revealed she was wading through applications from “strong feisty women” and said: “I can’t wait to her meet you all.”

Beverley added: "Thank you to all of you who have been in touch already! Those of you who have emailed but not filled in the questionnaire yet, please send me them!

"If you’re interested in being one of my 25 strong women and part of my new fitness classes."

She was an aerobics teacher before she was cast as Angie Richards in Emmerdale in 1983.

Bev popped up on exercise slots on GMTV in the 80s, wiggling morning viewers through the mambo and the cha cha cha.

There were also four DVDs, books and a fitness column in a newspaper but she turned down a permanent gig on the morning show.

In 1989, she joined Coronation Street as Liz McDonald and she left in 1998 to concentrate on her fitness career.

But in 2003, she was back on screen as the Rovers Return landlady before quitting for good in 2019 with her final scenes being aired the following year.

The Corrie icon Beverley has revealed how she once begged Ricky Gervais for a part in After Life.

Despite already having a "few secret projects" in the pipeline, Beverley has made it no secret of her ambition to star in Ricky's After Life.
