Dad sparks outrage as he asks to move in with parents to avoid crying newborn

A new dad cheekily tried to move back home to his parents to get away from his crying newborn.

The man just wanted a good night's sleep so he thought he could move out for a week to get some rest.

But his plans didn't go unchallenged as the baby's gran took to Mumsnet to shared the situation online.

Her own husband (his dad) branded it "outrageous" as he told the man to "just get on with it".

The gran wrote: "DS [darling son] and his girlfriend recently had a baby. As you'd expect they are being woken up during the night."

She added: "DS has asked if he can move back in Mon – Fri so he can get a proper night's sleep for work."

The new gran went onto say she wasn't quite sure why her son was asking and her husband stood firmly against it.

"Surely other new parents don't do this? I get sleep deprivation is hard, but I am not overly enamoured with this idea," she said.

The woman said her son claimed he was doing "everything" with the baby after work, from feeding to bathing.

But she had also claimed his partner didn't mind if he moved out for a week, leaving her with the child.

She said she didn't want to seem unsupportive and now asked others how they would respond to the situation.

One slammed: "Have a word with your son and tell him to grow up."

Another added: "Not only do you outright refuse, you also read him the riot act. How dare he try and duck out of his responsibilities."

A third asked: "How about he thinks of his partner's need to get some sleep and takes the time to do his share of night-time care?"

While a fourth commented: "There's a big difference between getting some uninterrupted sleep and moving out for five days."
