A board-certified dermatologist has revealed seven beauty hacks that you need to know — and one of them will be particularly handy for the upcoming winter season.

Dr. Azadeh Shirazi, who is based in California and boasts nearly two million followers as Dr. Azi on TikTok, specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, and is the founder of her own medical-grade skincare line, AziMD Skincare.

In her video, Dr. Shirazi, who has more than 25 years of medical training – including a fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Wellman Center, began by sharing a tip for how to instantly heal cracked lips.

‘Apply a lactic acid cream, like AmLactin, to dry, chapped lips followed by Aquaphor overnight, and you’ll wake up with smoother, more hydrated lips,’ Dr. Shirazi said, showing off both of the products in the clip, which was posted this week.

Dr. Azadeh Shirazi took to TikTok this week to share seven beauty hacks that you need to know, which includes one that will definitely help this winter

The first tip Dr. Shirazi offered was how to soothe cracked lips, instructing to use a lactic acid balm followed up with Aquaphor

Dr. Shirazi has been training in the medical field for 25 years, and is the founder of the skincare line AziMD Skincare

When used on the skin, lactic acid can work to exfoliate, brighten dark spots and smooth any fine lines or wrinkles, according to Colorado Skin Care.

In addition, the alpha hydroxyl acid can ‘speed up’ both cell turnover and renewal, and if used frequently, can have anti-aging properties.

The next tip she had was for those who are trying to achieve thicker and luscious eyebrows.

‘Use a spoolie dipped in Rogaine and brush your eyebrows with it three to five times a week for fuller, thicker brows in three months,’ the dermatologist revealed.

She noted that women can use men’s Rogaine for this purpose, but only three times per week.

Rogaine, also known as Minoxidil, is a medication that works to increase hair growth, according to Cleveland Clinic.

Typically, the product is used on the scalp, but as Dr. Shirazi advised, you can use it on your eyebrows as well.

However, in the comments section, the dermatologist did warn that Rogaine should absolutely not be used on your lashes.

Dr. Shirazi explained that by applying powder on the nose bridge of your sunglasses, it could prevent them from sliding off your face

In the comments section of the post, many were stunned by the seemingly simple tips that she had shared

Instead, she recommended those who want longer lashes can use eyelash serum Latisse as an option.

The more you know! Dermatologist shares her insider beauty tips

  • Use a lactic acid balm and Aquaphor to prevent chapped lips
  • Apply loose powder on the inside of sunglasses to keep them from sliding
  • Use Rogaine on your brows three to five times per week for a fuller look
  • Afrin can help to tone down redness
  • Using diluted white vinegar soaks can treat nail and skin fungus
  • Dr. Shirazi’s Retinol Staging™ can strengthen your skin barrier to better receive the Retinol
  • Use medicated pads with Glycolic & Salicylic acid on the armpits to stop body odor and lighten dark underarms

For her third tip, she shared an imperative life hack that would ensure your sunglasses didn’t slide down your nose or mess up your makeup the next time you wore them.

‘Apply a loose powder to the nose pads of your sunglasses to avoid them from ruining your makeup and sliding down your nose,’ Dr. Shirazi said simply.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Dr. Shirazi also shared some additional, seemingly unconventional beauty hacks, including one that will temporarily stop redness.

‘Applying Afrin to red pimples or rosy cheeks in Rosacea makes them less noticeable by taking out the red (temporarily),’ Dr. Shirazi told DailyMail.com.

‘Afrin is oxymetazoline, a vasoconstrictor meaning it temporarily reduces broken capillaries on the skin’s surface making redness associated with Rosacea, flushing/blushing, or red pimples less noticeable,’ she explained.

Another idea she offered up was using diluted white vinegar soaks to treat nail and skin fungus.

When it comes to using retinoids, Dr. Shirazi offered a valuable tip.

‘Many people give up on using retinoids, the most effective anti-aging ingredient, all due to irritation and side effects,’ she told DailyMail.com.

‘That’s because they are using it the wrong way. Over the last 15 years, I’ve developed a method called Retinol Staging™ that’s really helped my patients.

‘You cleanse & moisturize early in the evening (5-8pm). Then wait until bedtime (9-11pm+) to apply your Retinol on its own. This maximizes skin hydration & strengthens your skin barrier to better receive strong actives like Retinol or tretinoin (prescription Retin-a).’

‘Furthermore, this technique doesn’t reduce the efficacy or absorption of the retinol like the retinol sandwich method or skin cycling. It actually enhances the effects of your skincare actives while also reducing potential side effects.’

And, last but not least, she told DailyMail.com that she recommends medicated pads with glycolic  and salicylic acid on the armpits to stop body odor and lighten dark underarms.

‘My personal favorite is [my brand’s] Clarify Pads three a week,’ Dr. Shirazi said. ‘It comes with 60 pads and the formula is gentle enough for the delicate under arms.’

In the comments section of her TikTok post, many users were stunned by the seemingly easy suggestions.

‘Awesome especially the glasses hack,’ one person typing.

‘I wear glasses and it always pulls the makeup off.’

Another agreed, writing, ‘Those are good tips!!’

‘Oh, I love the sunglass hack,’ someone else commented. ‘Can’t wait to try it.’

‘I use the minoxidil to regrow my eyebrows after I had cancer.

‘Took about 4 weeks but it worked great,’ one commenter shared.

‘Then I dyed them with men’s beard dye.’
