Lady Amelia Spencer recently married fiancé Greg Mallett in a romantic mountaintop ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa — and while royal fans will have to wait to see her big-day dress, her pre-wedding look is straight out of Meghan Markle’s style playbook.
In images shared by friends of Princess’ Diana’s model niece (and later reposted by Spencer herself), the 30-year-old bride wears an elegant white silk gown with a halter neckline tied in a bow in the back, with her hair slicked back in a bun.
The timeless dress is reminiscent of the Stella McCartney style the Duchess of Sussex wore for her royal wedding reception with Prince Harry in 2018, along with Diana’s aquamarine ring.
Halter-neck styles appear to be a favorite of Spencer’s, as she showed off the similar Reformation Alani Silk Dress ($398) in a pre-wedding Instagram post with her husband-to-be.
Hello! was the first to report on Wednesday that Spencer and Mallett had tied the knot, and the outlet is set to run exclusive wedding photos next week.
“It means so much to get married here,” the bride told the outlet. “Growing up here together for the last 14 years, all of mine and Greg’s happiest times as a couple are here. It’s even more special now.”
Per Hello!, family members in attendance at the wedding included Spencer’s twin sister, Lady Eliza; her older sister, Lady Kitty; and her younger brother, Samuel.
It remains to be seen whether Amelia’s wedding dress (or dresses) can top Kitty’s; in 2021, the older Spencer married billionaire fashion tycoon Michael Lewis in a series of five custom Dolce & Gabbana dresses, each more lavish than the last.
Mallett proposed to Spencer in 2020 after 11 years of dating, presenting the blond beauty with a diamond ring featuring a sparkling halo of stones.
The bride’s father is Diana’s younger brother (and the uncle of Princes William and Harry), Charles, 9th Earl Spencer. Her mother is the earl’s first wife, Victoria Aitken.
