Do you have what IT takes to launch a tech career? | The Sun

INFLATION is on the up yet again, so where should you work if you want your wages to keep pace with rising costs? IT is the answer.

Wages in the tech sector increased by an average if 7.93 per cent in the last 12 months compared to just seven per cent in the wider private sector and three per cent for public sector staff.

On top of this, IT roles tend to pay much more than the norm, with the average UK tech salary sitting at a whopping £83,000 in 2022.

According to HR firm Hays, almost 95 per cent of employers looking for tech talent have encountered a skills shortage over the past year, so it’s still a candidate’s market.

So if you have what IT takes to launch a tech career, here’s how to get started with a little help from Sun Jobs.
