Ellen DeGeneres predicted Paris Hilton's baby name a year before birth

TV host, comedian – and clairvoyant? Resurfaced clip of Ellen DeGeneres PREDICTING Paris Hilton’s baby name a year before he was born goes viral

  • Paris and her husband, Carter Reum, welcomed a son via surrogate last month
  • They named the baby boy Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum
  • Ellen guessed the name Ellen when Paris visited her show last January

A resurfaced interview in which Ellen DeGeneres seemingly predicted Paris Hilton’s baby name one year before he was born has sent the internet into a spin.

Paris, 42, and her husband, Carter Reum, also 42, welcomed their first child together last month via surrogate – a baby boy whom they named Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum – but talk show host Ellen, 65, actually guessed his moniker long before they were even expecting.

The psychic moment occurred when The Simple Life star sat down on Ellen’s show on January 27, 2022, where she discussed everything from her and Carter’s wedding to their plans to have ‘lots of babies.’

‘You’re now going to have babies? Lots of babies?’ asked Ellen, to which Paris responded, ‘I want a couple, yeah, probably like two or three.’

‘And you have names picked out already?’ the TV personality continued.

‘Yes, the girl is going to be named London Marilyn Hilton Reum. Marilyn after my grandmother and London because it’s my favorite city,’ Paris dished. ‘I just think Paris and London sound cute together.’

While the socialite confirmed that the name she had picked out if she had a boy was also a city or country, she said she wasn’t going to share it because she was ‘scared someone was going to steal it.’

‘Oh, it’s that good?’ Ellen said. ‘Does that name exist right now? Does anyone have that name?’

‘No one I know,’ Paris told her.

But a determined Ellen said she wanted to try to guess it, and started to throw out some options.

‘Argentina? Phoenix?’ she asked Paris, who simply giggled and looked around nervously.

‘I’m not telling you,’ added the now-42-year-old.

Ellen was indeed right, and Paris announced that she and Carter had named their son Phoenix during the latest episode of her podcast, This Is Paris, as she read an excerpt from her upcoming book, Paris: The Memoir.

‘If all goes well, by the time you read this, Carter and I will have a baby boy,’ she began.

‘We plan to name him Phoenix, a name I that decided on years ago when I was searching cities, countries and states on a map, looking for something to go with Paris and London.

‘Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more important, it’s the birth of flames – it rises from the ashes to fly again.

‘I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives and that this should give us great hope for the future.

‘Even when the past is painful and the present seems to have fallen to s**t, it’s weird how two ideas that are so different, so completely opposite, can co-exist like that.

‘I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph come around throughout our lives and that this should give us great hope for the future,’ she said of the name

‘But they do. Freedom and suffering, joy and sorrow, love and loss. So his name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.’

She added that the newborn’s middle name is a tribute to grandfather, Barron Hilton, who she described as her ‘mentor.’

‘I looked up to my grandfather so much and we were so close and I miss him everyday so I really wanted to honor him by having his name in my first son’s name,’ added Paris.

‘So there you go, my beautiful baby boy’s name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum and Carter and I are so proud to welcome him into the world.’

A Phoenix is an immortal bird associated with Greek mythology that obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor.

Following Paris’ announcement, an excited Ellen took to Twitter to share the clip of her making the prediction last year.

‘I named @ParisHilton ’s baby! What do I win?!?! A hotel?!?!’ she captioned it – and the video quickly went viral.

While Paris said during her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show that she thought the name was unique, it has actually become increasingly popular in recent years, ranking in the top 200 names for boys in the United States.

Paris shocked fans on January 24 when she revealed she had welcomed her first child via surrogate.

The heiress kept her baby news not only a secret to the public but also from her own family – waiting a week after Phoenix was born to share his arrival with her own loved ones.

‘Not even my mom, my sister, my best friends, no one knew literally until he was over a week old,’ she explained on her podcast.

‘It was really nice just to have that with Carter, be our own journey together. Because I just feel my life has been so public and I’ve never really had anything just really be mine.

‘We were talking about, I just really felt like I wanted to have this journey be us only. Of course it was hard to keep that in because we were so excited and wanted to tell our families… No one knew until just recently.’

The mother-of-one also recalled the ‘priceless’ look on her own mom, Kathy Hilton’s face when she finally introduced Phoenix to her.

‘When I introduced my mom to our baby boy, it was amazing to see the look on her face, she was so surprised,’ Paris gushed.

‘Just the look on her face, it was just priceless. We are just so happy and just feel so blessed and he is so perfect and it’s amazing being a mom.’

Paris concluded by stating that she is the ‘happiest’ she has ever been in this new chapter of her life.

‘This is the happiest of my life, just being a mom and a wife and starting this whole new phase of life, it’s just very exciting,’ she said.
