False accusations from the past are ruining my relationships | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER a woman falsely accused me of rape five years ago, I’ve been struggling with depression.

The Crown Prosecution Service threw the case out because this same woman had cried rape with another man and she was proven to be a liar.

Mud sticks, though, and I’ve had so much anxiety and depression since. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it.

I’m 31 and recently started to see this great woman who I’d met online. She is 28 and a primary school teacher.

After four dates, I was supposed to go and meet her family for a BBQ but I gold cold feet at the last moment.

She asked me what was wrong and I explained what had happened in my past, and how I couldn’t move on.

She just hung up the phone and blocked me.

I thought she’d understand what I was going through but it seems she thinks I’m guilty.

DEIDRE SAYS:  I’m so sorry that this happened to you.

This woman didn’t give you time to explain yourself, which shows she wasn’t ever going to be the right person for you.
