Talk about fashion plates.

A new restaurant for the stylish set — that comes with a side of serious credentials — could be opening in New York City.

We hear that New York Fashion Week creator Fern Mallis and Steve Abrams — the former owner of “Sex and the City” staple Magnolia Bakery — are currently raising funds for a new restaurant aimed at Manhattan’s best dressed.

Mallis tells us the idea is to create a “fashion version of Elaine’s,” the storied Upper East Side literary hangout that was open from 1963 to 2011.

“This would be a place the fashion industry would enjoy eating at and hanging out [at],” Mallis tells us, saying she hopes it would have the vibe of a members club without the sky high prices and applications.

It won’t be a spot for tourists, she says.

“It will be for people who know and are knowledgeable about fashion,” Mallis says. “It will have a nice feel to it. I want it to feel like a place where people belong.”

Meanwhile, Abrams says the vision is for a “salon for fashion,” where “people are congregating and the ideas should be flowing.”

We’re told Studio 54 designer Scott Bromley would design the space and that fashion designers would be approached to use their creativity on everything from aprons to cutting boards to recipes.

The idea is to have a contemporary menu, a top chef, a screen displaying the shows during Fashion Week and colorful decor filled with pillows and upholstery created by designers.

We hear that while the idea is still in its infancy, they’ve already raised money.

The pair are still looking for more investors, who would, they say, always have a table ready for them.

They hope to have the place open by Fashion Week next February.

Abrams sold the Magnolia Bakery chain to developer Stephen Ross, the man behind Hudson Yards, in 2021.
