First pictures show what Manchester's new £250million waterpark will look like

A new waterpark is set to arrive in Manchester that will cost a huge £250million to build.

Pictures have now been revealed to show what it’ll look like when it’s finished.

There will be as many as 25 pools, 35 water slides, a thermal bathing area and a wellbeing spa, according to the developers.

You can also expect an ‘inner urban wellbeing garden’ that’s inspired by an English meadow.

Therme Manchester was first announced in 2020 and it’s expected to open in 2025.

The style of the venue will be a ‘pavilion concept’, with a rippled waves design.

Members of the public can review the plans before they’re submitted in the coming weeks, and give feedback.

It’ll be right next to the Trafford Centre and take up 28 acres – roughly the size of 19 football pitches.

Water fitness classes will be on offer there too, as well as an adults-only section with swim up bars, and 30 steam rooms and saunas.

It will even have the UK’s first all-season beach – complete with palm trees and sun loungers.

And if you’re feeling hungry after a swim, there will be restaurants to dine at.

Construction is set to begin later this year.

If you can’t get to Therme Bucharest in Romania, which opened in 2016, fear not, because this new one will be double the size.
