In what might be the most dramatic hair transformation of 2022, Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has decided to ditch her long hair for a short pixie crop featuring a micro fringe.
It’s not yet clear if Emma has braved the chop for real or if this look is just a temporary swap from her usual style, but we do know that the pixie is for her new perfume campaign with Prada Beauty. Emma has just been unveiled as the new brand ambassador, and the image of her new look appears on Prada’s Instagram page.
“Prada announces@emmawatsonas the new ambassador for Prada Beauty. The British actor, activist and artist embodies the essence of a multi dimensional Prada Woman,” Prada writes.
“The pixie cut is back!” comments one excited fan, while another says: “The short hair” with heart emojis.
“This look is such a good choice,” a third writes.
Since Emma has previously worn her hair in a pixie cut, it doesn’t seem out of the question that she’d brave the chop for real again. The last time she had short hair, however, was back in 2010 at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It was said that she went for the major chop after she finished filming all of the Harry Potter films, to separate herself from her character, Hermione Granger.
That pixie cut back in 2010 went on to inspire people globally to chop off their lengths, and we predict she might cause the same effect with this look.
In other hair transformation news from the week, Love Island winner Millie Court has also decided that short hair is better than long – for now, at least. Millie debuted the transformation in a new TikTok video titled “she’s back”. The clip shows her sitting in the hairdresser’s chair with her long and wavy tresses before it flicks to a second clip of Millie with a new short bob. The above-the-shoulder chop has been styled into beachy waves with plenty of volume at the roots.
It seems like short hair is really in this season!
