A health and wellness expert revealed her secret olive oil ‘hack’ for preventing pots from boiling over – and it works every time.

Stacey Jobe, from the US, was sick of dealing with her pots constantly overflowing with boiling water and ruining her cooking experience.

The mum finally discovered a kitchen hack that ensured it would never happen again – and all she had to do was coat the rim of her dish with olive oil.

‘You can boil your pasta with ease, there will be no more boil over accidents,’ she said in a video.

The trick works because the water can’t permeate the layer of grease to spill over the sides.

Cleaning queen Anita Birges also recently shared shared a similar hack that involved popping a cube of ice into a pot on the verge of boiling over.

Thousands admitted that cleaning up spillage from pots overflowing was extremely ‘annoying’ and ‘tedious’.

But Anita’s simple hack ensures sparkling clean stovetops and gets the boil down to a simmer in seconds.

‘While I was making my chicken soup today, I used this clever trick that I have been doing for years and wanted to share it with you,’ the mum said.

She claimed that it made both cooking and cleaning ‘easier’.

‘Whenever I have a pot that looks like it’s about to boil over, I throw in an ice cube in – that’s it!’

Many thanked the mums for their genius kitchen tips and shared some of their own.

‘You can also put some olive oil in the water – it helps with boil over and keep the pasta from sticking together,’ one said.

‘Lay a wooden spoon on top of saucepan to prevent it from boiling over,’ another recommended.

‘It also works for boiling potatoes!’ a woman said. ‘I just use butter and rub it around the top like that and my potatoes don’t boil over anymore.’
