A NEW mum found fortune in more ways than one on the day she gave birth – as she scooped the jackpot on the lottery too.
Brenda Gomez Hernandez, 28, felt like the luckiest woman in the world when she welcomed her baby girl and £81,500 into her bank account on the same day.
Just hours after she went into labour and delivered her third child on November 9, the mum discovered she had won the life-changing sum.
The 28-year-old, from Concord, North Carolina, had purchased her lucky Powerball Quick Pick ticket for just £2.50.
And her success truly was a family affair – as Brenda revealed how she picked her winning numbers with the help of her two sons.
The housekeeper explained she had used the boy's birthdays when deciding her digits, which proved a stroke of genius.

They said in a statement: "For Brenda Gomez Hernandez of Concord, 9th November will be a day she will never forget as, just hours after she went into labour and delivered a baby girl, a Powerball ticket delivered her a USD 100,000 prize.
