Adult star Misha Montana is used to being trolled online – but things have certainly kicked up a notch since she revealed she was pregnant.

The redhead, from Los Angeles, US, took to her Instagram page back in July to reveal she was expecting a baby with her partner, ex-WWE wrestler Matt Riddle.

And despite many fans being happy for the couple, they've also been bombarded with hate from trolls – especially Misha who has taken the brunt of the nasty comments.

The adult star, who has not yet revealed the sex of her baby, has now opened up to Daily Star in an exclusive chat about her pregnancy and the negative backlash she's been getting.

Asked about being judged for her career while pregnant, Misha told us: "I'm used to being judged, but being pregnant takes everything to an entirely different level.

"This isn’t the first time around for me, but it is the most public relationship and pregnancy and the most amount of scrutiny I’ve ever faced in my life."

She added: "It's disturbing to see just how uneducated some people are – an alarming number of people haven’t taken a sex ed course or know anything about anatomy, transmission of diseases or that your baby’s body isn’t going to be physically touched by a penis during intercourse.

"The amount of ridiculous judgement and bizarre, hateful comments is astounding. I actually stopped posting regularly on social media because I didn’t want to deal with trolls and the constant judging, body-shaming and nastiness."

Misha delayed revealing her pregnancy as she 'knew the trolling would be bad' and didn't want to deal with it. She said: "I needed to be in a healthy and strong state of mind in order to deal with the backlash I knew I’d receive.

"Being pregnant and already dealing with an influx of emotions and a hormonal rollercoaster makes it that much harder to deal with online harassment.

"I’m a veteran when it comes to being able to withstand all the hate but it’s still hard to hear when you’re pregnant and should be happy and celebrating a wonderful joy in life. A lot of other people in the wrestling world are pregnant with similar due dates and it’s a day and night difference from the praise and congratulations they get to the hatred, rudeness and wishes of death and harm I get."

As well as death threats, Misha says haters often say Matt may not be the dad and tell him to get a paternity test. She also says she gets comments about her being a "horrible mother" and told her child will be bullied over her choice of career.

When Misha was recently hospitalised for nine days with an extremely serious infection and then a kidney issue as a result, people also told her it was “karma”.

Misha told us: "It’s dangerous for adult performers and sex workers with children. A lot of performers choose not to share information about their children because of how cruel and volatile people online can be.

"They even go as far as making false child endangerment or bogus CPS claims (which I have been a victim of). It makes it so you feel like you can’t live a normal life. I just refuse to allow hateful, evil people to dictate my life and happiness and that of my children and family."

Misha says she's been taking extra precautions in her adult career since finding out she was pregnant, such as not sleeping with male performers.

She commented: "There are so many factors introduced to the equation that are new or need to be emphasised. Safety and health become even more important.

"Being extremely selective in the type of content you produce and with what performers. I haven’t found it appropriate to shoot with male performers being pregnant. It creates a new moral complex also that even the most forward thinking performers struggle with.:

She also said she's had "good communication" with Matt about what he's comfortable with.

"I think it’s so critically important to have good communication with your partner about comfortability in this situation as well as respect for them, your child and yourself," she said.
