A woman has taken to the internet after a toe-curlingly embarrassing reunion with a man she ghosted. Rylie Jouett from Austin, Texas took to TikTok to explain a man interviewing her for a job is the same date she ghosted six years ago. The video has gone viral with over eight million views as people want to know how the “awkward” job interview went.

Rylie, 25, got a call back for a job as a barista only to discover the person interviewing her would be a former date. On her TikTok account @ryliejouett she posted a video of herself facepalming alongside the text: “Karma is the nastiest b**** I ever met.”

The text on the video went on to say: “Six years ago when I was 19 I ghosted the nicest guy who had the best intentions for me. Tell me why he’s the person that’s interviewing me for a job that I desperately need tomorrow.”

Things went from bad to worse when the interview needed to be rearranged, and while rearranging it the man recognised her.

He told her it was “really awkward” and may need to offer her a job at a different location due to the “conflict of interest”.

Rylie was shocked by his response and was forced to beg the man to let her come in for the interview. She told the man: “Like you can’t even interview me because we kissed once six years ago on a date? Let’s be adults here. I would love to have this job.”

She asked him to let her come interview at his location but she was not sure who would be interviewing her.

In a final update, Rylie posted a third video and said that she had been offered the job by the man, but was considering not taking it due to location and wage concerns. She said: “The location is 30 minutes from my home and it’s half the amount of pay that I was expecting.”

She also joked that she was worried that her former date would “hold grudges” since his horoscope was a Scorpio. Rylie added: “I just want to make it clear that he has been nothing but professional in this entire process and I’m very grateful for that because I am an incredibly awkward person.”

Rylie also said she may consider taking the job if she is able to work at another location, not due to her former date but because it would be closer to her home.

Concerning her former date, Rylie said she ghosted him because he was “really obsessed” with her and also joked it was because of his horoscope. She said: “I was just not feeling it. It’s my right to choose who I like and who I date.”

She added: “Could I have been better at communicating instead of ghosting? Absolutely. Again though, I was 19 and have changed a lot.

Rylie’s story has immediately blown up on social media and comments on her video were divided on how they felt about her dilemma. One popular comment said: “He’s going to ghost you after the interview” while another comment said: “Karma is real I cannot stress that enough.”

Other users advised Riley on how to conduct her interview, as one person said: “Just make sure you don’t say one of your strengths is communication.”
