An elegance coach has shared ten posing tricks to always look your best in photographs.

Anna Bey, who splits her time between London and Geneva, says she’s got the ultimate suggestions for those wanting to ensure they’re never stepping a foot wrong in pictures.

The well-known lifestyle guru, 37, who ‘helps other women improve themselves so they can live their best lives’, offered the advice in her latest video on YouTube, where she has 1.68million subscribers.

Firstly, Anna said most people tend to ‘just go flat and full frontal’ when posing for photographs.

However, the elegance coach insisted that this ‘does not look good on camera’, she added: ‘You look boring, you look awkward, you look like you don’t know what to do.’

She said the best pose to do in this situation would to turn your body ever-so slightly sideways, towards the camera.

‘This is going to create a more interesting look, plus it’s actually more flattering for your body ladies,’ said Anna.

‘To do this we want to just do a little bit [of side]. Now there isn’t a rule for how much… sometimes you can just move your hips slightly sideways, sometimes you can include your shoulder sideways too.

‘It really depends on what you wear. Just remember always a little bit sideways instead of full frontal,’ the YouTuber urged.

She then discussed posture, insisting: ‘Very few people have a perfect posture… [but[ this is something we need to take into account whenever we pose in front of the camera.

‘The camera is really going to emphasize your posture issues so whether you have a little bit sloppy shoulders like I do, or you have a tendency to press your hips forward or over bending your legs, you need to be really cautious of your posture issues.

‘When it’s time to take that picture, really straighten yourself up like a little ballerina. Make yourself really tall, rolling those shoulders back, pressing that bottom in and just really make an extra effort to feel and look taller.

‘This is going to help you correct your posture and yes, you should feel slightly unnatural. Of course, don’t overdo it, don’t feel like too unnatural,’ explained Anna.

Firstly, Anna said most people tend to ‘just go flat and full frontal’ (pictured) when posing for photographs

Anna’s third tip was to lean slightly forward whilst posing. She said leaning back hardly ever looks flattering on camera.

She then explained what to do with your eyes to ensure you look your best in the photograph.

The elegance coach said: ‘I’m going to give you a little trick, always look slightly above the camera instead of straight into the lends, because that can sometimes be a bit too intense.’

Anna also shared a top tip for those that don’t feel like they look good when looking directly into the camera.

‘If you think that you don’t look good looking into the camera then if you actually look slightly to the side you will see how often times you might look better,’ she said.

She also suggested those being photographed should smile as much as possible with or without showing their teeth if they’re looking to get the best photo of themselves.

Later, she discussed where to place your arms, explaining that her favourite place to hold them was at her hips.

She added: ‘Whether that is one arm or both arms, I also like to put them gently on my thighs. You can also place your hands in your hair. Same goes if you want to utilize your face. You can also put them in your pockets.’

She then explained what to do with your eyes to ensure you look your best in the photograph. The elegance coach said: ‘I’m going to give you a little trick, always look slightly above the camera (pictured right) instead of straight into the lends, because that can sometimes be a bit too intense’

Anna (pictured showcasing her side positioning for photos) then discussed posture, insisting: ‘Very few people have a perfect posture… [but[ this is something we need to take into account whenever we pose in front of the camera.’

Anna’s next rule was to ‘always suck your stomach in and this is both for ladies and for men, even if you have a bit of a flat stomach going on, it’s not just for us with a bit of a belly.

‘Truly you will look first of all taller in the picture if you actually suck your stomach and really press your buttocks in but keeping your stomach like sucked in will create a nicer silhouette that will simply translate better in pictures.’

The elegance coach went on to discuss where best to place your feet, saying: ‘This is where I feel most people fail.

‘I personally believe feet slightly forward because it gives always an elongating effect and it just looks very feminine, very nice and you always know what to do with your feet.

‘Always put your weight at least on one foot a little bit more,’ Anna concluded.

She finished the video by urging her YouTube subscribers to always ‘find the best lighting’.

She added: ‘Rule number one always find a source of light, ideally daylight… You want to have the sun going straight on to you, pretty much.

‘You don’t want to have the sun coming from behind or from the side.’
