Inside Gary Linekers stunning £4m London townhouse with cinema room and garden

Sports presenter Gary Lineker is currently in the headlines as he was told by the BBC to step back from hosting Match Of The Day in a row over impartiality.

The BBC decided to make the long-term host "step back" from his presenting duties, but his fellow pundits, including Alex Scott and Ian Wright, have stood by their colleague in solidarity by also pulling out of their presenting slots.

After Gary was previously announced as the highest earner at the BBC with him raking in £1.7 million a year, it comes as no surprise that the sports host lives in a luxury £4 million property in one of London's most expensive areas.

Gary, 62, currently lives alone in his beautiful Barnes home, located in the London Borough of Richmond, which is not short on space, or luxury.

Gary's four sons George, 31, Harry, 29, Tobias, 27, and 25 year old Angus – from his first marriage to Michelle Cockayne – often visit the home as well as his adorable dog Filbert.

The star's modern abode is kept relatively private – but Gary has shared glimpses of his home, including a spacious cinema room, chic living spaces and a tree-lined garden, on social media.

Red recliner chairs can be seen in the cinema room, with a massive TV – perfect for catching up on the scores – alongside a wall filled with antique-style framed photographs.

Gary – who is a keen cook at home – has a rustic-style kitchen with exposed brick walls, light wood flooring and forest-green coloured counters. His kitchen boasts a large stainless steel cooker and a matching extractor hood.

It also includes a large marble island in the middle with a sunken sink as well as built-in cupboards with glasses, cookbooks and plates inside and plenty of drawers for storage.

Speaking about cooking, Gary previously told London Resident that he uses it to unwind.

He said: “I find it quite relaxing. I wouldn’t claim to be a particularly good cook, but I conjure up the odd dish, every now and again.

“Like most blokes, I can do a steak and I can do a roast dinner. I’m quite proud of my roast dinners, in particular my roast spuds…”

Gary has said that he’s inspired by the interior at the private member’s club, Soho House.

“I love colour, you can see there are lots of splashes of colour in the kitchen. The big artwork on the wall is actually an artist’s floor that I bought in Paris. There’s a little bit of Soho House vibe in the house, which I like,” he said.

Gary's living room area is incredibly stylish too with a bright blue sofa, very high ceilings and traditional wooden floors.

In terms of lighting, Gary opted for a large chandelier that also hangs down, accompanied by gold leaf-shaped lights.

Meanwhile, the luxury townhouse also features a huge garden perfect for a kickabout as well as a patio area where Gary has been seen chilling out on the sunnier days of the year.

Gary gave fans a glimpse at his garden on his Instagram story, revealing a spacious lawn with towering trees at the back.

Gary generously opened his doors to two refugees to stay at his incredible home, with him previously welcoming Rasheed – who is a law student studying in this country. Rasheed stayed for 20 days at Gary's home in 2021.

Since then the star has announced plans to invite someone else to come and stay.

Gary previously announced online he had offered to house people through the charity Refugees At Home.

He said: "My kids are all grown up so I've got plenty of room so if I can help on a temporary basis then I'm more than happy to do so. Why not?

"I'm used to young men in my house, I have four lads in their 20s and believe you me I'm sure they will behave better than my lot do. Bloody messy buggers boys, aren't they?"
